A question on "encouraging" visitors to click on ads

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by tayiper, Jun 27, 2006.

There is a guy on forums that I visit every day, and he has the sentence below on his "Donate" page.

The sentence in question is a following one:

"Google Ads help keep my site alive!"

I am curious, is this a potential violation of Google AdSense TOS ??

    thanks, tayiper

This would definitely fall in the grey area and I would not do it unless I emailed Google and asked if I was allowed.

Agreed... I would even put it more towards the black / do-not-do area, since it seems pretty clear in its indirect, "please click the ads to keep my site here" appeal. My guess is Google would not approve.

Ya, it is very cheeky. Google might not ban him for it, but I bet they'd make him remove the comment.

Yeah what Endurer said. This is not a grey area. It is a clear violation.

Again, when in doubt ask google. They will tell you straight up if it is a violation or not.

    No need to guess.
