1. How does google PR work? I mean, is it any how like Alexa ranking. I pretty much know everything about Alexa because I've been using it for the longest time, but I've started seeing a lot of people using Google PR so i wanted to know a little bit about it.
2. Why is google the only site ranked #10, or is there other sites that are also @ #10? Thanks all....

hmmm.
What does each ranking represent? I mean like for example, is based on a weekly traffic, monthly, bi-monthly, tri-, half a year, annual? I know Alexa is based on 3 month average, but how about Google PR? Thanx again...

#1 - The page rank of a web site is determined by quite a few different factors. How long a website has been active, how many relevant and clean back links it has linked to it, and the content and SEO of the website. If you're linked to a link farmer or if you spam a ton of links to get your PR up quickly then I can promise you it won't be up for long.
#2 - There are a few sites out there ranked #10 but there are not many. |

PR is determined by a private google algorithm
and it probably depends as sheeba1 said on quaility of site, internal structure, external links, age of website, content etc .... and it tries to evaluate the imprortance of a site ... here is a list of sites with PR10 http://www.searchenginegenie.com/pagerank-10-sites.htm |

PageRank is about backlinks - not traffic, not content - the number of backlinks and the quality of the backlinks - links from an established site that in itself has lots of backlinks from other established sites with lots of backlinks count for more than links from a day old blog
This is the description in the PageRank patent "A method is presented for scoring documents stored in a network. The method includes identifying links from linking documents to linked documents in the network and determining an importance of the identified links. The method further includes weighting the identified links based on the determined importance and scoring the linked documents based on the weighted links. http://www.adobe.com and http://www.apple.com also have PR10 ranking. Page Rank is a complex forumular created by Google in order to rank the importance of any given webpage. There are hundreds of factors that they take into account. My advice is to build back links to your site by posting on do follow forums and blogs and also making sure that your web page name includes some of the keywords in your page.

People who keep saying there are hundreds of factors - you're confusing PagRank and serps. There are 200 or so factors that contribute to your serps place. PageRank is one of them. But PageRank is a way in which google evaluates the quality of backlinks

PR is depends on the number of backlinks that a site have. It also depends on the quality of backlinks.
And there are many sites that have PR10. Search in google for "list of pr10 sites" and you will get your answer.

PR depends on a lot of factors which the others have clearly highlighted but most of us agree it is about backlinks among others.
