I got my new forum listed in 2 weeks - but it can easily take 6 months or more - if you ever get listed.

If you post your URL (or PM it) I can see what, if anything has been done to it. Alternatively you could ask at www.resource-zone.com for a status but look out for the sharks :)

My 2c is submit and forget, and set a reminder for 6 months. You may get listed in 7 days or 7 months. You never know. It depends on the editor's queue and the category.

I've had some take as little as 3 weeks (a forum) and others I've been waiting for 2 years (poker).

You may want to try this. http://www.seotie.com/

If the category you're submitting to doesn't have an editor, then find some other sites that fit there, and apply to be an editor. (As long as you're going to check and approve sites every couple of weeks).

If the category doesn't have an editor it may take a very long time before your site is reviewed and approved.

Occasionally emailing the editor of the category can help. But it may also be detrimental - depends on the mood of the editor. Most of the editors seem to be on power trips, but occasionally you get a good one.

There's no real way to speed things up. Give it a couple of months and then check on Resource Zone - your site may have already been rejected. Keep in mind that you have to wait 6 months after your first status request before you can make another one. So you may wanna take that into consideration - ie don't ask too early after submission.

Getting into Dmoz can take forever and a day. You can go to the dmoz forum and ask about it there but pay close attention to the rules.

I've heard stories about some sites taking a year or longer to get in but chances are your submission was not accepted.
