    Hey everyone,

We just held a similar contest and though we liked some of the creativity we saw in the entries, we have re-imagined what our logo should look like and be.

To reiterate: We need a logo designed for http://www.elocalplumbers.com/, a directory that ranks #1 for plumbers on google. This is a great opportunity for your portfolio. Please see below.

We want the logo with a definite web 2.0 feel that looks and feels familiar. Make it clean, crisp, professional, and simple, yet eye-catching.

Please take a look at the current logo to see what we have in mind - just think: better!

We had originally thought the focus should be on each changing category (Plumbers, Electricians, etc.), but we now think the brand should be reflected in the 'eLocal' portion of the logo. This will simplify our efforts in many facets of the business (i.e. advertising, etc.).

That is, we'd no longer like the logo to change depending on whether it is Plumbers, Roofers, etc. We want one, consistent unique element that is incorporated into 'eLocal' and brands it in a creative, relevant, and simple way (simple is important).

For examples, take a look at Local.com's logo or the following:

    http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo105/elocalusa/LogoEx1.jpg
    http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo105/elocalusa/LogoEx2.jpg
    http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo105/elocalusa/LogoEx3.jpg
    http://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo105/elocalusa/LogoEx4.jpg

Though we think it is best if the unique element is cleverly and simply incorporated into the logo rather than outside of it.

Also, please take a look at the entry from the winner of our last contest:

We really like the font, simplicity, and creativity. If we decided to go with the unique element in the changing word, this would be great - but as mentioned, we're thinking of going in a different direction now.

As for changes to that: we'd like to have the 'Local' a crisp, solid black.

We want the word 'Plumbers' or 'Roofers,' etc. to be colored, but plain text (since we are moving the unique element to the 'eLocal'). We'd like to have the 'e' in 'eLocal' the same kind of font (no italics), but you can feel free to experiment with rotation/tilt. Please also make the 'e' the same color that you make 'Plumbers.'

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with and hope this contest will be as great as the last one.

    Hey everyone,

I just want to help make things clearer. See how the winner of the last contest had a unique changing element for each word (Roofers, Plumbers, Electricians)? We are moving away from that idea.

We would, instead, like to see 1 consistent unique element that never changes that reflects the word 'Local' and is integrated with 'eLocal.'

What we did like about the past winner was the creativity, simplicity, and the font that he used.

Hope this helps makes things clearer, thanks!

SitPoMK - Some of us weren't getting the sense of Local from the roof, because we're going to have directories for Lawyers, etc. that don't necessarily have to do with your home. We also weren't crazy about the line under the e, the font, or the exact colors. As far as trying to brand the local, it was a good try though, just not exactly what we were looking for.

simplyg123 - We'd like a lower case 'e', upper case 'L', and upper case 'P' The star part was a bit too big and didn't really give us the sense of local.

ariefsyu - we felt a disconnection between the eLocal and the plumbers, etc. The idea to make the 'e' wrap around was clever, but made it a bit hard to read for some of us.

Feedback PMed to those who PMed entries.

General comments - we still want to keep it as simple and as clean as possible and the local needs to reflect the brand in such a way that would encompass anything from plumbers to lawyers.

If you can't think of anything for 'local', I suppose we would consider some abstract unique element incorporated into or around the eLocal, but it would have to really be simple and wow us.

We may seem picky, but the brand is important to us! =)

Thank you for all your ideas and work.

For the new contest, we'd like to take this as a starting point:

    and with the slogan:

We just want to take this and make it more interesting - either something relevant to 'Local' or something abstract, but kept simple and looking good.

Hope this helps clarify things. Thanks!

This thread has been closed because the OP's account was allegedly hacked.

Unfortunately, the OP also had multiple accounts, so you will need to find other means of contacting him in order to complete your contest business. (I might suggest whois.sc or using any other contact information you were provided).
