well i never said anything about exporting it and also the fact that i said it would be pretty much a template, should of confirmed that it needed to be .swf cause a template needs to be easily changed for the final output vid (and as far as i know, you can only change the flash video in its .swf format)
No you cannot edit a swf file, you can only edit a fla file, which you can still export in various formats after it is edited. So basically, whether it is swf, flv, gif, or whatever, it is the exported (published) format that you upload and use on your server. All of these come from 1 single fla file (author file) which is the one you update. Whatever "template" you are going to have will be a fla file, not swf.
yea i was gettin my formats mixed up, swf is the final file to create and fla is the actual flash file but no matter, already got sumone for the job
