    Hello fellow CO-OPers,

I was just wondering if there are any concrete stats (if publishable) on the CO-OP? I am curious to find out:

    1) How many members does the co-op currently have?

    2) What kind of growth is the co-op experiencing?

    cheers
    Frank

If you just signed up then look at your refferal code and that should tell you how many members there are.

Btw, sayles, if you just signed up, would you mind posting the number of members your referrel ID is showing. Just curious myself also. I signed up early on when it was in the 700s.

Not really that high of a fail ratio, because many sites register just to check it out, but never set it up to begin with.

Don't you think that's still a bit disappointing though? If my shopping basket conversion was just over a third, I'd be pretty disappointed. What's the main reason for abandoning accounts you think?

    PS website loads now...

It's still nearly 4000 sites that could have joined and helped our cause if it wasn't for 1) inaccurate expectations or 2) problems getting it up. Missed opportunity for all if you ask me.

Of course you'll have drop-outs because they don't like the site-wide from base-url requirement or they run PHP 1 on a server without corretc permissions but my guess is it needn't be 2/3ds abandoning such a great opportunity for them and us.

Shawn, do you mind revealing the total network weight? It's been a few months since the last time you mentioned it, and I'm curious how much of an increase the latest PR update had on it (as well as the influx of members from your newsletter).

I agree that we should find a way to convert more of the lost sign ups. I believe the main problem is deploying the ads and set up.

Is there a way to make the set up easier for the novice to intermediate webmasters? Perhaps you could ask a few seasoned veterans with the network to help newbies set up? I personally have tackled php and html. I have a total of 200/k in weight and growing. If anyone is joining the network and having difficulty setting up, PM me! I'll offer any help I can ;-)

I have one site in the network and another I was going to add but didnt. I think a 50% ratio is pretty darn high

Most people sign up and think they will get lots of traffic from it. Well, it does drive traffic from other websites but the main traffic sender is Google and some newbies / non-seo webmasters dont know that.

Anyway I think Shawn has a great feature in here and we are talking about 2k websites were your ads can show on! :D

The biggest hesitation I had was adding advertising to the site and having to do it on every page. That is a bit disconcerting why you don't know what you are getting in return. Especially a site that is professional and all pretty (that would not be mine...lol)

I would venture this is probably in the end what scared most off.

All I know, without it, I wouldn't be getting the traffic and rankings I am getting today. It damn fine motivation to work harder on your site when you see the extra cash the co-op makes you.

    Cheers
