Just read your terms and conditions, you are eliminating a lot of graphics designers, why only open to UK residents. I am British but live abroad.

For the op, your specs are way off 1024 x 768 too square around 1024 x 249 is better. Also why pay in dollars if it is only open to UK residents..why not UK pounds.

    one below is 1024 x 249.

Just to clarify, we're ideally looking for a visual mock up of a new homepage design, the whole page, including navigation, text/buttons etc. not just a top banner.

.jpg files generally use lossy compression meaning that they're good for photo's, as they dither nicely and have lots of colours, however, they aren't as sharp for text and block graphics as .gifs (glorified bitmaps) which use lossless compression that won't blur sharp lines, hence my preference in this instance.

Sadly the only logo available is the one on the website, I don't have a high quality transparent version to offer anyone.

    Thanks,

I would also like feedback as well - and I know I didn't quite use the logo, but I can switch that on over if you'd like.

    Hi,

I've decided that I will give feedback when requested in the hope that it will help come up with a winning entry close to what we ideally have in mind (that being the objective of the competition after all).

All feedback requested here will be posted publicly via this thread in order to help as many people as possible while present as level a playing field as possible, even though the designs that I'm referring to may or may not be publicity viewable (as that's up to each individual designer).

I encourage all designers to read of all of the feedback posted here, as many of the comments may apply to more than one of the design's I've seen, especially as I probably won't bother repeating myself.

So, here's the first round of feedback:

tigrato: While I like the fresh clean look of your two designs, and appreciate that you supplied versions in both green and blue, it's currently has a rather light heated, almost comic banner design not suited to the professional corporate nature of our client.

If nothing else you oculd go for a plainer banner design more like the one on the current site.

Everyone take note: One design that we liked used a banner featuring a london city-scape.

Also, adjusting the menus to match those of the current homepage would help, as the functionality is to remain unchanged

Finally, please bear in mind that I'm only one of the judges and that the final decision belongs to our client, and so all advice is given for advisory purposes only and I cannot guarantee that following it will result in you in particular being the winner, not least as I'm giving advice and guidance to several people.

    Hi e-mail2u,

Cheers for your design. Our initial thoughts are that it's very bring and colourful, however we don't really get the large @ signs nor the cycling helmets which don't appear to have any direct relation to commercial property (London office space).
