What Paypal info did he use? You may want to swap notes with these guys: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=824565&highlight=compules http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=822758&highlight=compules
Go to People's Court! It's cheap, with no lawyers involved, easy, although I am not sure where it would be filed, I guess in the place that you decide though. Anyway, would a binding contract connected to the sale (of right to use) a domain include it in the non-electronic goods? I don't think so, but there might be room for some brilliant legal idea there, to solve these "non-electronic goods" problems....
Im sorry to hear that you got scammed. When I see these types of threads it makes me wonder why a person with 32 + iTrader would just wake up one day and decide to ruin his / her reputation and reak havoc on DP just out of the blue. It doesn't make any sense to me. Hopefully you get Paypal or GoDaddy to side with you on this.
He is using hacked accounts. Period. I got scammed to. Just do a search and you will find my story. This is happening over and over and Godaddy is sitting on their arses laughing away. If you file invalid whois, they get the name and put it on TDAM. If you call them, they say they can't do nothing and recommend you use their service next time.
I filled a godaddy undo last night and hopefully they do something about it. Also i live in Canada.. is there anything i can do from Canada?
That's not fair! While it might have been better to use someone else than PP, it's not his fault! He is the victim of a fraud! It would be if he used PP again, in a similar case.
This is not true - I sell virtual stuff and someone bought a link from me and then filed a dispute, when I went into the resolution center to respond to the dispute I was very clear about the whole process of the transaction and it turned out that I won because paypal does not give refunds for virtual products.
Wanna see how many chargeback & dispute i have in PP, dind't win any and it's all for virtual goods... Some even chargeback after 2-3 month for virtual goods Paypal simply reverse the payment..... Once back i've sold something for $1,50 lol the guy chargeback after 3 month they reverse the $1,50 + $10 Fees and the dispute still open on Paypal, Paypal reviewing the case lol He already got his $1,50 back + $10 fees and the case is still open. Wondering what they will charge me when they finally resolve the complaint Paypal Suck, and yes they can chargeback on virtual goods...
PayPal sounds more and more like Western Union, that is, associated with scammers simce PP apparently helps them rather than the defrauded victims...
i will tell you what will happen.. you will not get money, nor does the guy who scammed you.. paypal will like to keep it - paypal employee (former)
really harsh. i got scammed for a smaller amount here "only" $25. the person who scammed me may have used a hacked paypal account (Thats the impression i got from the paypal dispute) Paypal said i had x hours/days to reply, but actually they closed it and refunded the money to him instantly and i loose out! Wouldnt get your hopes up paypal sound retarded. If you *can* get his *real* information i would try and look into the legal route for $650, but not having a legal background i could not say if it was worthwhile or not. good luck.
I'd really avoid using PayPal for anything over $100. I think Western Union is the way to go - once you got the money, the person who sent it to you just cannot do anything about it and cannot cancel anything. And of course, the buyer pay the fees.
