That is a riduculous infalmmatory type of remark that many politicians use to incite people that only listen to sound bites on the news rather than digesting the full story and background. There is not one logical comparison to be drawn between Hitler and President Bush. Sure, one could make an emotional argument - but not a logical argument.

Minstrel - I was wrong in painting all Canadians in that light. However, I am still convinced that there is a large secular and socialist movement that threatens the culture and the future of Canada. And yes, we do rely on Canadian imports. My point is that it would be far easier for the U.S. to replace Canadian imports than it would be for Canada to replace U.S. imports.

The secular movement is also gaining ground here in the U.S. and throughout the world. This will be a major cause of the downfall of our modern society. Now, wait a minute here - I'm not a Bible thumping southern boy. Throughout history religion (in almost all forms) has provided a morale compass for society. Most cultures (and governments) have foundations in law based upon religious principles.

Furthermore, religion is a foundation that binds many cultures together. Have you ever noticed the extreme likenesses and similarities in Christianity, Judaism, the Muslim faith, and other religions? Did you ever wonder why that is the case?

The answer is quite simple - storytelling. Back in the days of the Old Testament and New Testament storytelling - not writing - was the way to pass along history and information. And we all know what happens when we pass along a story from to one person, who tells another person, and so on. The story begins to change according to the storyteller. The fact is that origin of almost all major religions point back to the same origin in time!

If we eliminate the "morale compass" from our laws and our everyday lives, mankind is destined to fail. Man (in general) is inherently greedy for wealth and power and cannot be trusted to act on his own for the greater good. A secular society only hastens our own demise.

About 10 years ago, I made big plans to move to Canada. It was love if you wanna know the reason. I actually went. I was gone from the US for exactly 2 weeks. Did everything I could to get a job. Don't you know; at least back then; the Canadians had this crazy - policy?? - in place. They hired *Canadians!* first! Go figure!
I didn't have papers; tho I was working to this end and I couldn't freakin work!
    Jeesh!

So I came home. I can't live without working; and 10 years ago the Canadians I knew anyway had a problem with finances - times were tough all over, jobs were hard to come by and my god; a pack of cigarettes cost an arm and a leg with a toe on it. So it was best for me to be home where I could work.

I feel this way. I'm not always thrilled with the government and the people running it. We aren't perfect, lots of room for improvement. But if you are *that* unhappy with the US; then you really need to get yer ass on outta here. Go live in a country for awhile that dictates how you dress, speak, talk and fart, and you're forced to pray whether you believe or not. Oh; and leave the flag please.

Just to clarify, he's not talking about Canada there. We're not allowed to pray at all anymore but we get to fart any way we like.

I feel like I just read the finale! LOL

I think there are about 10 new pages of posts on this thread since this morning, my goodness they have been busy.

Funny thing is, I believe they really want the same things in life, just see different ways of it happening.

    Take the idea of peace:
one side says to just sit down and ignore them and they will go away and the other side says "lets kick some but and forget taking names."

But they want peace, the lack of threat, no body pulling a gun on them or blowing themselves up for whatever reason. Just Peace.

I know the Prince of Peace, and He will bring it someday, (I wish I knew exactly when, but it looks closer than ever.)

    Peace to you all.

    Good post Debunked.

The main thing that America is lacking is even handed judgment in dealing with all nations fairly and this is why our influence, image and power in the world is on the decline.

Nations want to see America destroyed because they see us unfairly supporting a military state that is building 30 foot concrete walls to keep the native Indians out.

So unless we realize that just because we did that here in America and it so-called worked (God was on our side and put the guns in our hand, right guys) does not mean that we can go anywhere in the world, kill the natives, take their land and install puppet governments to extend American power worldwide.

The nations of the world do not support us in this adventure and we must learn that our power is not all that great and we are doing more damage to America than good by turning 95% of the population of the world against us (Billions of people versus 250 million Americans).

Hehe. I didn't mean it like that, but I can easily understand how it could be taken that way. sorry. :) All I'm saying is that conviction alone does not make the man nor does it justify his convictions. There are better reasons to support someone...

In other words, I'm not making a comparison, I'm just attacking a weak train of logic.

But religion had to spawn from something inherent in humans. Even if one religion was right, lets say Christianity, many so-called 'ridiculous' religions, customs, and beliefs had to spawn from somewhere, and if it wasn't from God, it had to be from something inside the people themselves. Government can outlaw religion but I'm sure that man will always try to explain himself in a society where at least a small degree of free-thinking is encouraged.

no, it was a good think he didn't take out saddam. and the reason he didn't do it is he didn't have a plan. if you take out a country's leader, you have to have a plan to help them setup a new government. if you don't, guess what happens? we're seeing it right now in iraq. bush senior was smart enough to realize that taking out saddam with no plan for how to get the country back on track would be a disaster.

One gripe Canadians can have is in Japan if you're Canadian & white most Japanese people will first ask:
    Are you American?

This can become fustrating I think.

Without reading any previous post.. you must dislike us because deep down inside you KNOW that at any second given the opportunity every armed man woman and child would march north and rape and pillage every ahem.. city you have if we thought you were 1) A danger to us 2) would lower gas back under $1.00 a gallon.

Thank you! That is all !

Don't ask me, I did nothing but reply to you. If you dig up an old thread and type something that doesn't appear to make any sense the mods might deem it post-count padding.

I just thought it was lame since you didn't use the quote button and so you post doesn't fit any of the last prior posts.

So, don't cry to me, I can't give or remove infractions.

The infraction was " Inapropriate post" and whoever gave it to me said " I am from Boston and didn`t particularly like what you wrote" I didn`t mean to have it seem as if I was wining to you directly just a general wine to the world really..

I am new to DP and was searching for posts containing Taxi,Cab,Limo etc. and came across this post. After reading the title of the original post I laughed and wrote what I wrote. I always thought it was funny that Canadians have complaints about Americans. How many billions have they saved on defense because the toughest kid on the block is their friendly neighbor?

Anyway.. apologies to the MOD who gave me the infraction because they didn`t like what I wrote.. seems a bit harsh to give me some kind of infraction point because you do not like my opinion but hey.. the world needs uptight hall monitors too I guess. If we didn`t have people like you MOD maybe the world would descend into anarchy.

I`ll limit my use of DP henceforth to learning and won`t post except to ask industry related questions. MMMMK Forum NAZI?

Well here's my thought on everything, the world shouldn't hate Americans, they should hate the majority of the people that represent and are the face of America.

The media is controlled for the most part by conservative capitalist and for the most part, most of our politicians are corrupt, scam artists, swindlers, and scumbags.

Really, America is so f------ sugar coated. This country is built up of immigrants from everywhere. I live in southwest Detroit, and it is all minority and immigrants. If you look, there is a liquor store on every corner.. Ironic. All of the different cultures fight, blacks Mexicans, blacks whites, it goes on.

For example I was driving on the freeway in a car full of some friends, a couple were black, Mexican and white. This was right after Obama became president.

Some redneck pulls up on the side of us and starts making racists comments to the blacks and acting like he is shooting a gun at them.

    It is ignorant.

I just think it is all ridiculous. Then again you got rap artists in the media talking about how cool it is to shoot people, sell drugs, gang bang, be ghetto and live in a hood.

The majority of them end up dead or in jail. Now you got white kids from suburbs trying to act ghetto, like they had a rough life when they wouldn't last a day in a place like that.

It's a mess, people need to just be themselves, quit having false idols, and get the f--- along with each other no matter what race they are.

I just don't know anymore. And there is a lot more that goes on in America then what you people from other countries perceive.

So quit hating on America and hate on the majority of the people that are the face of our country.

    Just my opinion..

    Hey phantom, thanks dude! :)
