Stumble, Digg, and Technorati can all get you alot of traffic, give them a testrun and see which one works best for you.

If you want to increase traffic, you can start to rank these things on Google.

Stumble each site you like. Make a strong profile with friends. Contribute to the community and you will gain lots of traffic.

I disagree. If the SU visitors find out what they are searching for in your site they will come back. They will convert in quality visits.
So you have to give them quality content. Quality Content = Quality Visitors.

I have a few things to recommend you, mate. Read them and think for the best way this could be done with your site.

First off, do not send stumblers directly to your home page, i.e. do not post your home page. Why? Well, a much better approach would be posting a post that relates to the demographic of stumbleupon users and the particular category you are posting to. Post a single post, landing page or some sort of content that you feel becoming viral.

Next. Insert visual cues in your posts. When users are channel surfing they browse like thousands of pages, even more sometimes. Having attractive visual cues increases the chances of visitors to stay on your page instead of immediately closing it. And let's not forget that visitors could tell news post, a funny one or some other type of post by actually seeing these cues.

The design of your site/blog also plays an essential role when it comes to drawing visitors but it wouldn't be enough if your content is not grabbing your readers by the eyeballs. It has to be thought provoking and simple to understand at the same time. You could also drip your content or in other word serve it to your audiance in portions. Never reveal the real deal in just one post. Make your readers anticipate your next move and convert them to loyal readers.

Hope this sheds some light on how you can do things in order to get more SU traffic.

You should try out the paid SU service. Its only 5 cents a visitor, and if people like the content it will start organic waves.

If you've had your account for a while, theres not really a need for this as the account will probably become quite strong on its own. I use SU all the time, because its awesome, and it sends ridiculous amounts of traffic to my pages - one has had 30k uniques from Stumble in the last 3 days.

Also, Mark just released AutoStumble, which I have not yet tried.

The key though is that other people have to like and thumbs-up the content. Its like any other kind of linkbait - short sensational stories or funny photos do quite well.
