Take the amount you would earn with Adsense in those spots for an entire month and double it (at least). Be glad you can work with a direct sponsor, and try to get more of them. Then you not only make more money, but also run your own promotions for them and create new ways for them to market their products (for a fee of course).

For example, I try to create a new ad delivery method every few months. My newest is Corner-Peel ads. My sponsors loved the idea, had no idea they could participate in that type of advertising, and were delighted to pay for the service.

Make sure you are actually delivering a value. They wont come back if they are not increasing exposure for their brand or products.

You could say that you are willing to negotiate prices, and would ask them more details:
    1) What type of link is it (you might charge more for gambling links, or not take them at all)
    2) How long deal they are after (discounts for longer periods)
    3) Bulk prices are also available
...and you can also ask their budget so that you can "work on a suggestion suitable in their price range"

After that... you suggest a price and get money via paypal (or something) and put the link on your site.

Add in openads to your website, and then do it that way.

Of course, this is a long term plan. Not if you are nickel and diming. As you add in more sites, open ads can control ads for all sites, market, niche(s).

    2 cents.

Heh, pretty hard to scam anyone with link sales ;)

Just ask them for payment and put the links on your site after getting payment - or something like that (if you are suspecting scam)

It is very easy to scam anyone with link sales as it is the sale of any product or service... the classic nigeria scam is often pulled... eg you sell them something for $1,000 but they send you a cheque for $5,000 and then say it was a mistake and ask you to send $4,000 back by Western Union or another unstoppable method. Needless to say a short while after the $5,000 disappears from your bank account because the cheque was stolen/ a forgery etc and the funds have been called back. You end up with no money in and potentially a fair amount of money out if you have been tricked into giving them the change.

Okay, good addition. Although I believe anybody who deals online must have "wired" for dealing with nigeria scams/phishing attempts... sort of like a basis that one must possess. I mean, it doesn't require much to deal with this stuff:
    - if buyer asks you to send money to somewhere, DON'T DO IT :)
    - If they say it's their mistake - they should handle it
    - if it's their bank mistake, their bank should handle it, not you.. ;)

    Good addition though.

It may be a middle-man, someone who wants info on prices, ad his/her part in it and try to sell it to someone else like people here at Digital Point, once the middle man finds a customer he/she will buy your links. If so, it's beneficial for both of you. Though, just because someone asks for info, it doesn't mean he/she will turn out to be a buyer. Receiving offer in junk box is not the best sign.

It alot depends on the niche of your site and the kind of traffic u r getting as well as visibllity. Ask them what they want to advertise. DO Check the DP link Biying section to see for how much ppl are selling.

We've received more than a half dozen of this exact email in the past 24 hours. Each one to a different website that is purchasing traffic from AdWords or Yahoo or MSN. (That's my suspicion on where it's originating from) Very odd, each one has a completely different email address. Sometimes hotmail, sometimes eresmas.com, somtimes comic.com, sometimes netscape.net. Very fishy indeed! No doubt it's massive spam to millions of people. The person's name changes every time in the email from, but it's signed "Daniel Lee" every time.
