So who will you switch to when you finally realize the emperor has no clothes? That's not a lot of people. The 2% that can afford to give $2300. RP supporters gave all they could on a few specific days. It's impossible to maintain that kind of fundraising because there are not enough supporters to give a lot of money the other 360 days of the year. 100,000,000 is around 274,000 a day for a whole year. You can claim some kind of real support when RP can raise at least a million per week for several months straight. There's another famous RP: Ross Perot.
Heh, didn't see your vote on my thread. Who are you supporting? Do there have to be 10,000 people at a corner for you to realize someone has significant support? Believe it or not, Ron has lots of support, it's not this lone spammer conspiracy theory you're going on about. I'm sorry you're so detached from reality. 50-100 people is a lot to organize around a street corner waving signs. Candidates like Thompson and McCain and Guiliani pull less supporters when they come to town for full dinner events, whereas the Ron Paul movement can mobilize people without issue. So it's not about the amount raised, it's when it comes in? $19.5M is a lot no matter what day of the week it comes into the office, bud. And it should be more than any other Republican candidate this quarter. The Democrats are irrelevant right now, it's primary season. If Ron Paul wins the nomination, money will not be an issue. If he doesn't win the nomination, competing with Democrats won't matter. Right now, it's all about him vs. the other Republicans. Also, let us not forget that for the typical candidate, the full donation amount of $2300 is more the norm than anything else. Ron Paul is the revolutionary one pulling in small donations from large groups of people. Even if they can't afford the full $2300, there is a lot left to give. As a side note, there were ~25,000 new donors for the Tea Party. This, and the 19,000 new donors for November 5th. Seems like Ron is having no trouble getting money. Did you see the press release? 130,000 donors this quarter, including 107,000 that have not donated before this quarter. I believe the only candidate with donor counts like that is Obama. I wanted to give you a rebuttal for your nonsense, but this will be my last post on the topic in this thread. Start a new thread if you wish to discuss these matters, but please don't shit on this one. Thanks

This is an old video - but since ending the War on Drugs is one of my favorite issues... Civil Liberties in general and ending drug prohibition in specific is a huge part of why I support Ron Paul. I'm excited about Iowa today but I'm also quite nervous that things won't go as well as I hope. My hopes are quite high... I want to see 20%+, to me when I look at the poll #s (Paul at 8 or 9%) and consider that so much of his support isn't being counted in the polls it seems possible. It's really a guessing game until we see what actually happens. I read today that the only people included in the polls are people who voted in the 2004 Republican primary (when Bush ran unopposed) - It seems like only Bush's BIGGEST fans would have even bothered. Doesn't seem like a group of people that would make up much of Paul's support at all. I also read today that the usual turn out for the Iowa caucuses is just 3%... ? Taking into consideration all of these factors it seems possible that he could actually WIN Iowa? I mean why not? I'll dream about it anyway.
1st in possible, but it's not likely. Right now, Paul is tied for 4th in Iowa, and polling 6th nationwide. I figure 4th should be achievable and a good result. 3rd is definitely within his sights. The only way Paul rockets to 1 or 2 is if Huckabee has a fall off, which I believe he will, but it will need to be a big fall off.
