It depends on a load of factors like the search platform, vendor's landing page, quality score, etc. Some offers convert better with landing pages. Most likely if you want to just test, then direct linking is fine It's hard to get good traffic from google with direct link. You can do this with Yahoo/MSN but your keywords might get removed.
i was wondering the same thing... why is it harder to get traffic with direct linking? how would that affect an adwords clickthrough?
Not always. I have a post I made about direct linking and when I do it. http://www.jonathanvolk.com/ppc/easiest-200-bucks-ive-ever-made-direct-linking.html
Jon, did you do this with google or yahoo? I've done dlinking with Google and then within a day they'll turn off the ad.
maybe that's why Adwords increased the minimum cpc on a campaign i was testing from 20 cents to one dollar over night. i was pissed. but it's probably b/c i was dlinking it... so while we're talking landing pages, can anyone recommend a good wordpress theme to use as a starting point for a landing page?
Yea, quality score probably kicked in. Usually just create my own landing page. Check out http://themes.wordpress.net/ If you don't mind sharing, your fender blues website - how did you create the ebay listings? I was thinking of starting up a cj ebay site.
i used the PHPbay wordpress plugin. it was REALLY easy to use. The developer is actually a member on DP forums, that's how i got the script. It was only 40 bucks (or something like that). His name DP name is Gtech. Do a search for him. He also offers great support! let him know rgordon83 sent ya!
dont set up an ebay site, thats how ive been making my money but im trying to get out of it because its just too much work
the site i have is no work at all. just some work initially setting up the pages. The only work there is here is to get traffic, but you need that iwth any site...
Doesn't seem to be a problem w/ yahoo. Def. w/ google. PPC Riches and LPgen helps a lot here. You could try inserting articles and link related to the topic.
Has anyone really used these $497 software packages (LPGen, SpeedPPC, etc.) and confirmed that they work? Look around - there is almost no real information available about them other from the seller or affiliates. I would find that concerning ... Christoph
I've never used lpgen but i use speedppc for yahoo. Comes in handy if you have a yahoo gold account. I can create a csv file within 10 minutes of 30K keywords.
I always use landing pages and rarely do direct linking. I think using a landing page allows you to weed out all the curious clickers.
Yea, i own speed ppc and it saves me a lot of time. I use it primarily for yahoo bulk upload because i'm not a power user of excel. Landing pages has enough benefit - You can track international visitors and click fraud and then send their data back to google/yahoo for a refund.
Not sure how using a landing page will affect people clicking on your PPC ads, which is what you pay for. You don't pay for people clicking the actual affiliate link... ???
