Yes, if you have an interest in the category, why not apply, one of the smaller regional subcategories Europe, North America etc. would be a good place for a new editor. The two main reasons editors get turned down are that they don't put much thought into the sample descriptions and titles and that they are not honest about their affiliations.

My you have become such an abrasive fellow recently Qryztufre. Just to be clear, for those who do not recognize your hidden agendas the ODP is has a very strong anti-child pornography policy and should you notice it within the directory please report it and it will be immediately removed.

 

umm my site is about food and restaurants, not kiddie porn or any kind of porn.

Funny part is I actually saw a hit on my analytics come from editors.dmoz.org. 8 seconds on the site and 2 pages viewed. I guess the editor is active, just doesn't add very many sites. Oh well.

 

Charming comments on the red rep zeropaid. With an attitude like that perhaps becoming an editor may not be such a great idea.

I am very sorry. The way it was phrased stated that the red rep sender had posted in this thread. That only leaves Qryztufre. Again my sincere apologies.

The idea of you applying as an an editor was only suggested as a means to get the category updated, which was your original question. That option does not suit everyone.

Qryztufre you need to wash your mouth out with soap and water.
