Google Video Bot

    I've only noticed that besides the usual googlebot and adsense (Mediapartners-Google) bot, there are now agents called Googlebot-Video/1.0 crawling as well.

    Additionally if you do a google search such as http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=cheezhead you find a thumbnail whose source is from http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServe

    While we have seen video searches as part of Google searches recently, they have usually been Youtube/Google Video ones. It appears we may soon see videos from other sites as thumbnails as well.

    I would assume a higher chance for a click in Google SERP if your site had such a thumbnail.

    Your thoughts?

    nice find, thanks for sharing... but the video bot never visited any of my websites may you have links pointing to the video's in your website ?
