PHPLD would be easy, but why not make your own? Be unique...

Code one yourself. Otherwise you're useless... A directory script is one of the simplest scripts to code. Look at the blog directory in my signature. It was coded from scratch in less than 12 hours.

People will say phpld or phplynx but they are pretty much the same.

Sure, you could use 12 hours to code a directory script, or you can get phpLD 2.1 for free, and spend that 12 hours monetizing your directory. In fact, you could buy version 3 for $25. I don't know about you, but my time is worth much more than $2 / hour.

IMO, don't re-invent the wheel, unless you can make it better and sell it to somebody else.

FWIW, I'm using PHPLD 2, and I'm quite happy with it.

You are joking right? phpld isn't anywhere near the quality of phpLynx, look at the features list, here there ain't NO comparison.

phpld is good for people who can code and want to be able to write and add mods, or for people who think spending a fortune on adding mods is the way to go. phpLynx has everything built in but is hard coded except for the templates files. Good thing with the phpLynx is you can pretty much do just about anything with it via the ACP.

All about choices, and there's plenty of them out there, including the choice of making your own just like I am even though I work for phpLynx.
