A trick to get indexed and rank high on MSN

besides I've got 75+ sites of my own in MSN the regular way

no tricks needed

 

Is MSN even worth optimizing for? Even when I rank well there, the traffic is negligible.

 

My thoughts are that I am doing the SEO work for all three search engines and others really.

If it brings 1 additional ad click or 1 additional sale then it's worth doing.

Long term over the years the ROI seems to indicate it is indeed used.

Don't forget a lot of people have hotmail accounts, so they will typically use MSN for their search same as applies for people on Yahoo, AOL, Dogpile.

I look at my server stats and analytics package to tell me what the answers are as to who drives traffic and I rarely see a referal I don't like.

Besides you never know when MSN is going to embed search into Word Excel, Outlook, Outlook Express, Frontpage, Powerpoint, etc and truly win the search war

I find it pointless to come here and tell how good you are at MSN or whatever. Plus, instead of critizing me/my trick you can just move on without using it.

You chose to post something that is incorrect, doesn't work, and could get a site lower rankings.

Lot's of people post inaccuracies, and many others correct them. That is why this forum works.

I agree with leet. If you don't trust it don't use it but don't be such critics. Everyone on this forum is trying to help others. I sometimes don't understand why people need to be so critical.

Seriously, its probably a good idea. I have found with G, anyway, joining forces with them through gadgets, adwords, etc, has led to certain changes in rankings, supplementary index pages moving back to main index, little things happening. Its like you go up a credibility notch in their eyes. This might tip you to a new level, or do not a lot. Remember the serp calculations are complex and mainly guessed-at.

If it fits your site, and adds value, it a no brainer. It wont be a magic bullet, but it might be worth 10 mins of your time.

here's how you can prevent possibly getting penalized; link to it from ANOTHER site! they cant penalize you then, as competitors would do it.
