My BlogTalkRadio show, Chick Tech Talk, comes back tomorrow (Thursday) at 6pm Eastern time. The topic of tomorrow's show is "Writing and Marketing E-books," and I'll be chatting with published author and e-book author Dee Power.

Dee and I will be discussing a variety of e-book related issues, including:

    1. Motivations for writing e-books (why people write them).
    2. How to get started in writing e-books.
    3. How writing e-books is different than more traditional publishing.
    4. Tips and Tactics for actually planning and writing a specific e-book.
    5. Tips and Tactics for promoting and marketing your e-books.

If you're an e-book author, or considering becoming one, be sure to tune in! If you can't catch the live show, you'll be able to find the archive at the link above or on the official blog of the show. :)

If you have questions about writing or marketing e-books, you'll be able to call into the show from the number listed at the first link in this post, or by contacting me during the show via AIM at ChickTechTalk.

Hope to hear from a few of you then! :)

Just a reminder that this show will be airing in a little less than 3 hours from now (for those in different time zones). If you have specific questions about writing or marketing e-books, feel free to ask them here, and I'll bring them up during the show, and they'll either be answered by Dee or myself.

I don't need to know anything, but questions I see and get asked often are stuff like:

    1. What's a good program to create e-books with?

    2. How can I protect my e-book from being shared?

    3. What's the best way to market my e-book?

    4. Aside from straight consumer sales, what are other ways to monetize my e-book?

    and so on. :)

    Good luck with the show.

Oh, and I also see "are e-books dead?" constantly. :)

I'd like to hear some info around building pre-launch buzz for an ebook.

What's the best way to market pre-launch without inciting someone to write a competing ebook? Also, what's the best way to market when there's a competing product either already existing or in the works?

    Looking forward to it! :)

The show starts in a little less than 15 minutes! :) Tune in if you can!

And thanks Jason and Latoya. I did make a note of your questions, and we'll certainly work them in if we have time. :)

For anyone else, you can ask questions during the show via AIM to ChickTechTalk (I won't respond though... I'll simply read them towards the end if they come through), or you can call in (I'll invite callers once or twice to keep it organized) by calling 646-478-5154.

I had it on (live) in the background while I worked on some stuff. Sounded good.

You can always tell who's a bit "traditional" in the writing world. ;)

From what I heard, it sounded like great info for someone looking to do e-books.

Thanks everyone. Now one of these days I actually have to find enough time to type up the transcripts. :) I'll probably do a good bit of following up on this one.

And for the record, the next show is Wednesday, July 11th at 6pm Eastern time, and the topic will be Web Writing Fundamentals. I'm not 100% confirmed on who the guest will be yet, but I'll be looking to get a Web writer on board (waiting to hear back from DeniseJ at the moment).
