    Hi Goldfish
If google find that your content is duplicate then google gives tag that is called supplimental results so use always new and fresh content or uncached content..

Well, it's not just dupes (duplicate content) that can end up in the SI (supplemental index) - there are a variety of reasons.

Basically when the search engine get's a request (search term) it looks through the RI (regular index) for the best possible results. If it doesn't find enough it then does a secondary run through the SI (supplemental index) and often mixes the results in.

So - on the more competitive - or high traffic terms - one won't find supes in the results and so we generally want to avoid our target pages 'going supplemental'

    Getting it?

    Hi There

Google basically has 2 indexes, that it has made public knowledge,

the main index and the supplemental index.

The main index generally contains the webpages with the highest google computed ranking in terms of links and age(i think)

Supplemental index results are generally pages with very few incoming links or whose homepage have low Pagerank, and it does appear that newer pages are often supplemental.

    Finally,
When you do a search, urls marked supplemental are from the supplemental index, unmarked ones are from the main index.

As has been mentioned above, main index urls always get checked first, so its important to develop a link building strategy an avoid supplemental status

Low PR will get you in the Si without doubt. no matter HOW unique your content is.

supplemental results stands mainly for poor linking of your pages.
Duplicate content in not at all the main reason even the fresh unique pages are in supplemental of most of the sites.

supplemental results are the pages which are lost the quality for a temp. time. the main criteria for the supplemental results are page rank.

    Supplemental results can occur because:

    1. Duplicate content
    2. Bad internal linking structure. I think a site should be as a cobweb, not like a slim tree.
    3. Orphan links. This may occur if nobody links to you. Google tend to think that if nobody is looking to you...you are worthless.

Also make sure if you have a dynamic site that the "SEO friendly" page created by .htaccess is single. Don't let google to crowl both dynamic pages and their seo friendly mirror.

Another hint...take care of rss feeds....

I also read about translated pages something...but I am not sure.

Anyway you have to be in supplemental hell at least once to learn how to create a website that Google will tolerate. You will read here and there that you have to create your website for your users. This is a nice conception, but don't forget that those users are sent by...nobody else then....Google.
