have you guys seen pictures of the storm itself yet? Here are a few, pretty breathtaking: pictures of Katrina more on the link I gave above.
I got a sister, her name.....Katrina. Every ones been making fun of her name ever since the hurricane came. And where does she live at??? Hurricane Utah!!!!
Why not just put a link to the pictures instead of pasting them directly to the forum? Wasting my valuable time with slow loading pictures.
Are they not not image links anyway? Meaning you would have to wait for them to load on another site? I see no difference in waiting here or waiting on another site.
I dont think those are katrina shots. I've seen them before. Hurricanes do not, very often, produce tornadoes - too much wind shear. Lightning is unusual too.
Sorry, I've had some probs with the forum where I was going to put them originally ... I have now added them all here http://frogengine.mysite4now.com/frogengine/katrina/
If so, thats really unusual. Tornadoes and lightning are not really considered normal functions of a hurricane, maybe on the outer bands, but not really inside the main hurricane itself.
Most of the tornadoes were in Mississippi and Georgia. from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurricane_Katrina#Tornadoes
Yeah, the outskirts of the hurricane. I think I've been through about 7 or 8 hurricanes in my life and one of the things I've learned is that tornadoes are the one things you won't get hit with as it crosses over you. Hurricanes are actually kinda creepy when they come over, cuz unlike a normal storm here - you get no lightning, no thunder - no nothing - just wind, rain, calm, wind from another direction, sideways rain, calm, wind from yet another direction, very heavy rain...for like 10-12 hours straight. If you've never seen rain change direction in mid-air, then you've never been in a hurricane LOL. Last year, when we had three pass by us here, the rain hit the roof so hard it was like an echo chamber in the house - impossible to sleep, and the power is always off.
wow Immense pictures. Just shows you how powerful nature is and how small and of no importance we are in the scheme of things. Katrina may be gone, but Rita is coming now..
