Anyone else with a paid directory seen a drop in submissions over the last week? Biz-Dir was just about paying for the advertising, last week though things have just dried up I think I have had one submission.

Some of us are feeling it as MOST people dont see the new PR in the toolbar or are still looking to see who got what PR... dont sweat it ;)
Give it another week or so and things will be back to normal...

PS congrats on your Directory PR :D

    thx

I think Matt Cutts' blog about reporting paid link sites may have had an impact, as well. People think G is targeting paid links of any type.

Well those who are smarter then the average bear  lol fixed thier submit pages
will tell you that as soon as matt said that...
he also mentioned a REVIEW which is what you get with most paid directories.... :)

His main focus was about chasing the really high PRs 8-9-10s to influence the outcome of a sites PR..
atleast thats what i understood of the scenerio

    thx

I know there is alot of confusion with people thinking that paying for a directory review is paying for a link, different ball game all together, I think directory links may have even been devalued for SEO purposes, either that or a new filter has been put in place that means the links have to age x amount of months, can't quite put my finger on it, what I have been seeing in Google's SERP's is that the sites who have actually gone out and bought text link ads are doing fine and those relying on directories have dropped, either that or mad aging filter has been put in place.

business as usual for me too.... infact seeing a small rise in featured link submissions actually. It's prob a normal fluctuation of this industry? See if it continues through this week.

techevangelist may have a point although there has been more than enough outcry against that article

I think --it relates directly with US clients not seeing new PR on the toolbar. Today I had an issue with some one on V7N --who was accusing me of facking my PR:mad: Because whatever we say --most clients are from the land of Uncle Sam:p

I think US friends could confirm if they can see the export on toolbars. I am in India and getting the new PR on my toolabar from 28th onwards.
