ideas to make $ off my site

hope I'm in the right forum.. Anyways, I just wanted some ideas on ways to make money off my site since lame @$$ adsense cancelled my account. I run an urban forum based around music and discussions. The site really leans more towards hip hop but really, all music is accepted. Rap, r&b, rock, alternative, pop, spanish, ect ect. We have all different kinds of people from different ethnic backgrounds, race, culture, religion and from all over the world.

Our site mainly deals with music and discussion. Check it out to get a better idea. Www.offthaave.com . The forums is the main part but I'm in the process of making our new homepage, which I'll let you all in on the preview by going here > www.offthaave.com/new1 . We are 5 people away from 1,200 and usually get 60-70 users on a day (remember, that's USERS not guest or unique visitors).

So yeah good people of digital point, help a man down with his luck (damn you adsense!) with coming up with some ways to make some income. Tried one affiliate program (the big one, I forgot the name) and nothing came in from that.... sooo yeah, let's politic.

Why not try an adsense alternative such as bidvertiser instead?

I would say sell links but your site's PR is only 1..

PR? haha sorry, don't know what that is but I've just signed up for adbrite. I'm in the process of swiping all the old adsense ads off and replacing. But is bitvertiser any good?

It's Google's PageRank. The higher it is, the more money you can make by selling links. Unfortunately, your site is only a PR1, so you can't make money selling links for PR or SEO purposes

You may try to sell links which can help you to earn some money. But for that you must be credible. One of the ways to be eligible is to increase content on your website, on a daily basis. You will then definitily reach your goal.

Selling links, selling ad space selling sponsored content pages.

If you site is new and you don't have much content yet, you might not be able to ask for much for any of that yet. It's also easier to sell ads on-line when companies can see that others are there before them.

So, for the moment don't ask anyone to pay for a sponsored page but do look for partners that you could offer a sponsored page - they provide the content (generic, good value, not pR fluff) in return for a link on their site.

Suppose someone could write you an article on the birth of R&B for example. That's content that fits your site, the page is interesting to your visitors and is credited on the footer to someone in the biz.

If you can do that twice then the third time, you ask the content provider to 'sponsor' the page for a fee. You can point to the previous articles as proof that your site is being seen as worthy by others in the industry.

If you get a lot of STUDENTS, I may have a deal for you that pays $10 to $100 per sale. Sell custom research. I can also provide you free PROMO ITEMS (like giveaways) to give to the students. Email me at info AT webmasterlabor DOT com to explore the possibilities.

Try AuctionAds.com. Those are ebay ads. Maybe they'll tie in well with your music related content. Whenever someone clicks through registering/and or buying you'll get a commission. I've read favourable reviews on it. Check it out, you'll probably make a lot more with them, than with Adsense.

Actually, no. Improving PR means getting links to your site, from preferably high PR sites. See my article on link building before you go off getting PR, without getting better rankings.

If you have a base of people that use cell phones and you think that you can get them to buy over the internet then I would be glad to reccomend you for the cell phone store in the link below. I wont do this for everyone. Since you have made it to DP I will.
You make $50 on each phone shipped. $10 on each plan upgraded and 10% on accessory purchases.
They host the webpage, you just redirect your url to your site and promote it. In your case you can place a link to your page and let the users visit.
They pay monthly and provide monthly stats. They send checks. I have made a good amount from them :)
This is not BS its a good program and pays much better than parking.
Thats why I put the link in my sig.

Why was your Adsense account cancelled? You could try YPN... their ads suck but they pay out decent. Or Kontera...

increase your PR by getting more back links and SEO and then people here on DP will pay you big bucks to have their links on your site and you will not need to have adsence or similar ads on your site - plus it will look better.

Another way to make money is paid posts (with links, of course). Getting paid to review stuff.

Don't think that's the case, his web site is a forum and not a blog.

Back to Offt, since your page is PR1 try crispads to replace your G-sense.

Yes. paid posts. Hyperlinked for SEO. Assuming that he increases his forum's PR enough. To make this a more attractive option, I suggest he invest in installing VBSeo hack on his site.

Whatever you do, don't ask your forum members to click on your ads daily, as you did when you were running adsense!
