I can't say I'm really pleased. I'm in an electronics niche where it is MUCH cheaper to buy on eBay than anywhere else. However, sending them 230 clicks I've got 58 cents. YAY! 0.25 cents per click. Is AuctionAds actually performing for anyone?
Not much. After one month my stats: imps 200k, clicks 3k, rev $20. The ads look nice but, for me, they don't turn into earnings. It might work well on another type of site. Anyone who is doing well with it should post.
yeh, and its even worse when they show handbags on a car site, i have the keyword "AMG Wheels" and i have seen amg wheels for sale on there a couple of times, but most of the time they are handbags, how many guys looking for car wheels want to buy a handbag.
Yep, same here. Some of my pages with the keywords "motorcycle accessories" keeps getting ads for Coach purses. There are 116 auctions on ebay right now for those keywords but AA isn't showing them on my site.
For those of you that are using AuctionAds on your Wordpress powered site, here is a little trick to get better targeted ads and in turn, more conversions. The javascript code isn't contextual and the only way you can input the keywords that you want to target is via AuctionAds control panel. This trick involves targeting the ads to the theme of the category the post is in. So if I'm using AuctionAds on my Television site & one of the categories was called “Samsung Televisions†I can easily target that keyword by using a dynamic category insertion string via my Wordpress installation. This is the part of the AuctionAds code that shows you what keywords you chose to target: auctionads_ad_kw = “â€; Code (markup): Of course you may want to target televisions, so you would input "televisions" when prompted to in the back end of AuctionAds: auctionads_ad_kw = “televisionsâ€; Code (markup): Obviously your whole site is not about just one brand or type of television, right? Lets say you make a post in the "Samsung" category of your site, you can then can dynamically insert the words “Samsung television†into the keyword string, thus targeting very specific ads: auctionads_ad_kw = “<?php foreach((get_the_category()) as $cat) { echo $cat->cat_name . ‘ ‘; } ?>â€; Code (markup): This will return the category name into the proper field, thus increasing you CTR, and this in turn increases your earnings. Make sense? If you found this informative, some green would be nice.
I agree keywords are the most important thing. Here's an article I wrote about auction ads in my blog.
520 clicks have generated over $40 in revenue for me. I've been using the program for only about 4 days as well, so surely some auctions will end and that will go higher. $.08 per click isn't too bad I suppose, at least for my niche. In addition, as mentioned I believe it will increase as auctions expire and referral is given. My real concern is with the problem with tracking eBay ACRU's.
It is the ONLY way to use it. It's useless otherwise. That is what I'm doing because that is the correct way to use it. Did you think you found some trick? Should have read the instructions first.
But I do like your solution for dynamically inserting the kewords. It does mean, however, you need to choose your categories wisely or you'll end up with no matches.
Lol, useless otherwise. I suppose it's easier blaming affiliate programs on a Publisher's shortcomings.
Your site gets 100 hits PER DAY. Clearly the amount of cache dedicated to sites is relative to the traffic. 100 hits per day.....
