I've got a site that's apparently been penalized. Even though it's on page 1 for the 3 top key phrases I started out to target, every single page remains PR0 through update after update. I don't think I violated anything. I doubt there is, but is there any way to check what problem google is having with my site? My two previous sites went to PR2 with little effort. There's definitely something wrong with the newest one.
PR0 doesn't have to mean that you've violated Google's rules. I wouldn't worry about it when you rank well. Just go on building the site.
Yup, +1 Why care about PR when you rank on page 1 on google? PR is irrelevant anyways. Only thing that matters is where you rank for keywords and according to you you're ok there!
PR means nothing now, hasn't done for quite a while. As mentioned above, you are on page one for your chosen phrases, be happy.. this is all you need..
If your site is in Google index it means its not penalized anyway. Getting top listings for unusual keywords doesn't guaranteeing PR increase... PR is based on Number of quality back links you have...
Stop strugling with PR You rank that's the only things that counts and another proof that PR and RANKINGS are 2 diffrent things ...
Dun worry about PR buddy lol. as long as you are ranked well thats the only thing that matters. traffic and conversions matter, pr doesn't matter.
Page Rank is not the tool that determines how Google ranks your page. Its not really PR in the sense what Google really considers Page Rank to be. It's not accurate and is updated only few times in a year. Generally Older page have high page rank. so, it is not a matter to worry about as long as your site is not the first page for that keyword.
How did you know that the site is was penalized. Only seeing the PR 0 on each page? Dear page rank is one thing and rankings in search engine is quite another.
To find out if you're penalized perform the following searches in Google and note down your position: keyword allinanchor:keyword allintitle:keyword allinurl:keyword allintext:keyword Now, compare your position from regular search (keyword) with the allin searches. If you see major discrepancies (say, more than 10 positions), you might be penalized and the violation is likely related to the allin area where the difference occurs. As for Pagerank, I just answered an almost identical question here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2166335&p=16170653#post16170653
