    Two comments.

    1) Perhaps you need to revisit your basic grammar, but the question mark applies to the words "Any guesses", not the words "oil independence". Sorry for assuming you understand English.
    2) You think the eventuality of oil independence is in question? How about the death.... is that an eventuality you believe in?

Not at all, I was refuting your claim that there is "no contribution whatsoever", the fact that the article mentioned ancient inventions is irrelevant.

Then be more specific and ask about what Arabs have contributed, because the Middle East is inhabited by Arabs, Persians, Jews, Kurds and many more ethnicities.

Why has your question changed from "contributions" to "inventions". Why the Middle East? Why not Chile, Iceland, Mongolia or Kazakhstan? Did you grow up in a racist household?

After 4 months away from this forum it's wonderful to see that the intellectual arguments are still moronic and totally pointless.

    1) nps. I thought you were asking an unquestionable question.
    2) Oil independence, probably not, nor do you need it imho. I just happened to watch mega disasters earlier. You're pumping out 8 billion gallons but using 20 billion gallons so getting 2/3 from middle east, by hook or by crook, because you're reliant on it. Only one other way to get independence, owning more territory, and I think the world would frown too much on USA plundering too many more oil reserves. Can only get away with that for so long I would think. Then, after all that, even if you did achieve independence, and created a lot of angst, it seems the oil won't last too long anyway as they're pumping it out beyond their means too. Renewables is the future, whether we like it or not.

    1. West does not dump zionist in Middle East. The palestine govt wont allow that. FYI more than 2/3rd of palestians live in israel as refugees and are not allowed to return back because they are not jews.

    2. 3. Isn't this a single point.

    4. Any proof

    5. Its mostly USA not the entire West.

Btw do you think selling oil to west is a good deed. What will the countries do if they don't want to sell their oil.

I'm not talking about the current illegal settlements in the future Palestinian state.

I was referring to the mass immigration of Jews and Non Jews to the historical region of Palestine which includes what they call "Israel" nowadays.

They were helped by the West because generally Jews were persecuted all the time, and last time I checked they were expelled from 100+ locations in Europe, so they were not liked very much and so dumped them into Palestine, now the Palestinians have to put up with them.

    I hope that's clear now.

There's a clear distinction between the two.

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1242351/?tool=pubmed

I don't think it has to be a good deed, it's just business, the buyer and the seller benefit from it.

Personally I don't care who contributes and who doesn't, but the OP is a total buffoon for coming in here pretending that the Middle East does not contribute to society, when they clearly do and what they get in return is land invasions, killings and terror.

Your second statement I agree with, but it disagrees with the first bit. Oil independence is coming regardless of whether we develop renewable energy sources. At some point Oil will run out. I suppose if we cut down enough Rainforest like Brazil, perhaps we can fuel our cars with bio-diesel from date palm oil, but I find it just as likely we will be running on solar. Either way, Oil has a limited lifespan, its just a question of how long. What is a country like Libya going to look like then?

Those Joos must be really bad. The way you describe it, it sounds like it isn't just an individual person, or group of people are bad either. Seems the way you describe it, there is something inherently wrong with the whole group genetically speaking, which includes their offspring and ancestors as well! Tell me more!

So now you attack my wording, make yourself feel better by listing other places with shortcomings and then play the race card.

You should just be a man and admit that the people you stand up for so strongly mean nothing to humanity.

This thread seems a little mucked up. I just returned from the Middle East - Kuwait, Qatar, UAE etc etc and they are truly lovely places to be, the people are much friendlier than when I visited LA or New York. But since I am assuming beautiful cities and polite people are not considered contributions to society I shall see if I can form a list.

I'll take the easy way out at first and show things that were invented solely in Egypt:

    • Paper.
    • The lock and key.
    • The ox-drawn plough. Which has obviously evolved into being tractor-pulled now.
    • The clock.
    • Medicine. The Egyptians were the first to perform surgery and study anatomy and internal organs extensively. Greece, China and Rome were all pioneers in early medicine as well, but Egypt got there first.
    • Make-up/cosmetics.

And the other thing is of course religion - the three major religions (Christianity, Islam and Judaism) all originate from that general area and has obviously played an enormous part in society today, with both hugely positive and hugely negative effects.

We can get a looooong list of what the Middle East contributed to society, but I hope you realize that OP is just a plain racist, he is not to be taken seriously. He changed his question from "what did they contribute" to "what did they invent", then "what did they invent in the last 100 years", and also rejects any contributions/inventions from any other ethnicities other than Arab, every time you give him something, he refines his question to show his real agenda, which is to demonize Arabs. Don't waste your time with these guys.
