    How effective is article marketing?
If I want to submit my article to multiple article submission sites, should I change the words around or can I just copy n paste?

It's definitely a good idea to target your article differently for different submission sites.

Yeah it can give you some traffic for some time.

An advice, is to submit your articles to many article directories, but most important is to add them to sites of your niche. They can send you more targeted traffic and help with SEO.

Depending on the quality of the article it could be very effective.

It takes quite a long time to see the results. :D

Article marketing give your site lots of one way links. As you are not linking to the sites that link to you with the help of articles, the links are one way.

Is it okay to post the articles on your own site as well as submitting them to other sites in your niche / article directories? Or don't the SE's look kindly on this kind of duplicate content?

You could try breaking the article onto multiple pages if you are concerned. This could also keep the reader more involved and give the opportunity to place more advertising if you would like.

Yes! you gain a lot of traffic from article submissions. but on the other side
it suffers your SERP's rankings based on my experience..;) hope that you submit articles strtigically.

    cheerz!

Yes, it is quality rather than quantity that matters.

Well in my experience you need to do 4 things.

    1) Write an article and submit to as many sites as possible.
    2) Write a better article and email sites in your niche asking if they want to publish it free of charge with a credit link to your site
    3) Write an amazing article and only publish it on your site
    4) Email sites offering to custom write an article for their site with a credit to your site

Its not about using 1 article and lots of promotional methods. You need to use multiple articles for a variety of tasks.

article submission: i'd go for the top 5 article directories in your niche.
they'd probably account for 80% of your traffic anyway.

then progressively submit to the others.

it pays to do research and figure out which are the 'best' directories, using things like PR and alexa as a guideline (but it's not 100% accurate).

again like Jerad said, quality is king when it comes to articles.

i'd rather submit 1 really great article than shove 10 crappy ones out the door.

submitting articles to article directories gives you 2 benefits: (1) it brings you direct traffic from people who read your articles and click your URL at the author resource box, and (2) it gives you link credits which should logically improve your PR.

Most article directories feature topics that are "anything under the sun". If you want to optimize the benefits you get from submitting articles, search for article directory sites that are niche-oriented, meaning, their site is dedicated solely to topics related to your content. Their site guests are more likely interested in your article content and their link to you is likewise, more relevant as far as the search engines are concerned.

    very interesting thread...

so it's better to work on few articles...

This strategy is good for google? The same article in many sites is a duplicated contenent...

One additional benefit of articles not mentioned is creditability.

If someone is doing due diligence on you (perhaps before buying your product) and they google your name, it would be good credibility to have loads of top class articles written by you in the SE results.

    Regards

Article marketing is especially good if you are just starting to promote a new website you have created to get inbound links to your website.
