yes kind of! However don't just post for sake of increasing backlinks. Take this instead as a return gift from the DP forums.

May I know why you're asking this question in this section? I believe the question should find itself in the Link Development forum!(...)

    That Explains It
You've been adding threads at rapid speed in the directories forum even when the threads didnt fit. [Two, including this one, had to be moved.]

So... you want backlinks to your directory from a forum labeled "Directories"? I'm guessing the "some one" also said having the link in the opening post was even better? That'd explain why in only 29 posts you've started 11 threads in here.

How about not spamming this forum. If you really are here to learn and not just to create BS threads for backlinks, then do so without trashing the place please.

    Hi,

It helps to a certain extent though but all the links will be from the same IP. So better if you can look forward 3 way content links from different sites.

linkesxchange - From what I've read the value is discounted if the thread or forum is unrelated to the subject of the sig-linked site. That means it depends on the nature of the sites linked and venues and threads in which they appear.

If you had three links to sites about Excel and you posted in a related forum it'd be good. If one of the links was about The Spanish Civil War, the juice for that link would be minimal. Conversely the same set of links added to a Genealogy forum would yield a better boost for the history site and little juice for the Excel links. It's reportedly a context driven thing.

I don't know the answer on whether 3 showing up in the same proximity on multiple forums works. Maybe someone else does. That's a dup content question from the sound of it. Not sure there.

Yes forum backlinks can be helpful, more so if the forum topic is related to the linked site.

of course, it does help but also try other methods when building backlinks and don't stick to one.

maybe the forum sigs could help gain backlinks cos that's what everybody is doing, posting links to their sigs..

This is a good question. When i check my back links i dont see any forum post with my sig in it but i do see forum post with a link i added directly in the text. If sigs work then why dont i see back links from froum posts with just my sig link in them?
