After previous complaints and advice from mods to report misplaced threads I've been diligently reporting for several months. The reports were being acted upon in a timely manner, recently that's not been the case.

Today I open this forum and on the first page out of 30 posts, 11 are solicitations and 2 are spam. This includes posts such as 'pr6 directory' which I reported many days ago.

I have stopped reporting recently as it seems a waste of time. Come on guys are you running a moderated forum or a spamfest?

This is why i practically stopped visiting the directory section on here. I use other webmaster sites to look for directories to submit to or read information from other directory owners...etc

They should pay a mod to only mod this section and no other section on the DP forum. Long time ago it seems the directory section on here was great with lot's of well known directory owners posting away and now they have gone away do to the way this section has become. I learned a lot here from the well known respected directory owners and now i see only few.

We can keep complaining and well it will not get us far or will prolly get us negative rep. lol

Good luck on getting this section back to normal. The new members don't know how to read the sticky threads or even the board descriptions before creating threads. (Hell, some veteran members still don't know what correct section to create a thread in)

Thought i'd throw in my 2 cent's here. Well, time for me to leave the directory section again cause i hate havingto go to page 2 to find quality threads to read.

I exactly have the same issue, I had myself approached for moderation but shawn isn't available hence it couldn't be acted upon.

I hope shawn does get time to select some new mods. :)

I have recently joined this forum and TBH it's probably the first forum I have been on that seems to be reletively spam free and has a very relaxed attitude to posting things like directories.

Although that section may p!ss off a few members, I think it's really useful.

Also - although there seems to be quite a few "Submit to 500 search engines........" threads, most of the topics on this forum are pretty useful and a good read of other people's views.

Apart from the "Submit to 500 search engines........" threads, I think this forum is pretty good.

I hate to point this out but syted, you have just done exactly what you're complaining of, this very thread should be in a completely different section.

Suggestions and feedback is where you can tell them if theres something you like or dont like. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3

The directories section is quieter anyway, i dont see the misplaced threads as a huge problem, its quick and easy to just report them with simply misplaced thread

I dont think that a mod is obliged to have a thread moved by a certain time, they get moved and thats the most important thing.

I report them too as do a few others i think, really, this is not such a big deal.

I think the Directory section needs a Moderator that will actually moderate them. This section is out of line, too many Solicitations in here. People who ignore should be BANNED, also much of this people obviously have duplicate accounts.

If you notice that they reply with "Thanks for this list", and it is pretty much the same people, almost BOT like.

The Directory section is about discussing directory issues, not "Submit to my PR4 directory"

I guess that it just shows how bright some of these directory owners are as they can't start posts in the announcements forum. It is very frustrating. I have reported a few.

It takes all members working together to help keep the forum clean. Please continue to use the bad post report.
