SEO and CDN. Is it good or bad?

A content delivery network or content distribution network (CDN) is a system of computers networked together across the Internet that cooperate transparently to deliver content to end users, most often for the purpose of improving performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

So if you visit site www.domain.com from US, you receive data from US server.
If you visit from Europe, you get data from the closest server (it even may reside in the same country) and thus European IP.

So instead of single IP, we have an IP in each country/continent.
It surely improves the user experience, but would it improve ranking?
How big G usually reacts on it?

no, i don't think so it give any impact on ranking..if you specify your traffic then you can target your area through Google analytics.

    Well, consider this.

    1. If it takes too long to load a page then the search engines won't get your content at all to rank you, so faster page loads are good for SEO. For this reason alone, using a CDN is good.

    2. Current wisdom is that you have 5 - 8 seconds to convince a visitor that they are in the right place and engage them enough to convert. If they actually see your content before they are apt to leave then faster page loads also help conversions - assuming your site content is benefit and persuasive orented.

    3. HTTP 1.1 is the current version in use on the Internet. It allows only 2 files to load at a time per hostname. This means, if your site is www.domain.com and you are also loading images or video from nb2.cdn.com also then you are loading from 2 hostnames. Tiy can then load 4 files at a time, potentially doubling the speed of your content loads! This is also very good for SEO and conversions by multiplying the effect for the factors mentioned above.

    Hope it helps...
