    Hello all

I currently run a website and here are the specs:

    adult website
    current disk usage: 760 MB
bandwith: 420 MB monthly average, but growing as the website grows
    visits: 9,000 unique per day
runs: phpbb forum, wordpress blog with 5 or so plugins
image hosting: 50% of 3rd party sites, 50% hosted using nextgen plugin

Currently on a shared hosting plan with hostgator, which I've outgrown. My site has been suspended, shut down, or had town time 3 times within the last 30 days.....each time because HostGator says I've used up more than my share of the servers allowed usage.

They suggest I move to a dedicated server.

I have 0 experience with a dedicated server. A online buddy of mine strongly suggest ayksolutions.com. His site receives nearly 35,000+ hits a day and his site runs a video sharing script that is pretty heavy.

Time is money, but I'm not looking to rush into another bad decision. Hostgator was fine, so its not a knock against their product, had i known that my site would generate over 11,000 visitors on some days and really understood what that meant, I would not have signed up with them to begin with. I would like a very smooth transition, so I'm entertaining the thought of simply upgrading to hostgators dedicated server.

Anyone with any suggestions or reviews on hostgators or ayk's dedicated servers?

sorry, when I posted that i didn't really understand the cpanel read out.

My site uses right below 420 MB of bandwidth per month on average, as it's only been open for 11 months. I expect that to grow to more than 600 MB.

    Hello,

Do you have a budget in mind ? With those requirements, I don't see why a small VPS will be enough for you.

Please do get in touch if you're like some quotes.

    Regards,

If you are using only 420 MB of bandwidth on monthly average requirements i would suggest you better upgrade to a VPS rather than a dedicated. We can offer you Semi-Managed VPS if you need. Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions.

Is it possible that HG was complaining about CPU usage and not so much BW? From what you are describing its not like it is a huge amount, even by their limitations.

Anyway, I contact you off the thread with a suggestion.

VPS would probably sort out your problem alot better and alot cheaper.

Try hawkhost, they offer VPS for cheap and are really good quality, trust me on that

It's won't be too cheap for a dedicated server, if not too much traffic, you can use share hosting.

You don't need a dedicated server, try a semi-dedicated service instead...

    Hello,

I have a dedicated server ready but it has Plesk Control Panel 8.6 (best control panel of the industry). I can offer you a resonable price of $90/month with no setup fee.

    checkout www.canhost.us
