Hey. Recently my site was pr3 and dropped to PR0 on previous update. Yesterday's update gave me PR4 for most of my pages. One strange thing happened. I just put new page I guess on 26th sept. that also had PR3, isn't it strange. I also had some pages which is completely unique content and uploaded 10-25 days ago they have PR0 but this page has PR3 in just 2 days.... Anyone had the same thing before? Why do you think this happened? (even that site is not indexed by google yet)
i have a PR2 from a post on my blog that i just wrote few days ago...google sure works in mysterious ways sometimes.
No, this is not strange. Google's Toolbar Pagerank is becoming less reliable. If you scour webmaster forums and blogs, you will see that PR was given to many undeserving pages. I'm not sure if it is intentional, or because their algorithm is messed up, but PR distribution is very inconsistent among a good number of sites. It is almost if Google has abandoned toolbar PR as a trust gauge for regular Web surfers. Congrats on the PR, regardless if the page was indexed in Google or not!
(DP moderators tell me!) I got infraction. Which category is correct for this threat. I just had INFRACTION. I thought this is search engine thing and related about google. I can't see any other suitable category.
Check the cache of the page, you will "probably" find it's the URL of another site that content is also on. I've seen a bit of that happening this update.
Hi, Same here I got PR2 for a website just launched 3 days before. Google Toolbar is no more reliable or google algorithm for page rank messed up. Google New Mystery....!
I don't pay too much attention to Googles PR thing. I'm more interested in where I show up on the page when someone searches for my keywords. I think almost all of us has searched for a term, went to the number one listing, and that site has a PR 0 or 1. Then farther down the page might be a PR 3 or 4. At least that has been my experience. However, on the other hand, why is it that everyone wants to get back links from a high ranking site? I don't think even Google can answer that. Zeek
But may site dowm pr on odct update, many friends tell me that updation is going still but i don't know.
Usually when this happens, you have created a "new" page with and old/deleted web file name that was indexed by Google in the past. It's just a Google thing and it will be reset when they finish updating your site.
