Who will run through the most money during these tough economic times?
    Mr. McCain or Mr. Obama?

I need to clarify what Homebiz wants - is it how much each is spending on the campaign?

yes.........Who is spending(wasting) the most money on the campaign to become President.

Who will spend more? Probably Obama...he's getting more contributions, so has more available to spend. Who will waste more? Whoever loses. The winner isn't really wasting money.

Gee, Obama gets slighted without a "Mr." :D

According to the non-partisan U.S. Budget Watch, McCain's policy designs would put us in the hole to the tune of an additional (-) 354 billion, and Obama, an additional (-) 387 billion, a difference of 8.5%.

So, guessing you see McCain as the fiscal disciplinarian, and Obama, the prodigal son?

Since McCain is limited by his acceptance of PUBLIC money, he is capped at what he can spend. This is a stupid question.

Perhaps you want to ask who will waste more of the PUBLIC'S money - that will clearly be McCain.

Out of curiousity, what page are you getting those numbers from. I did a quick search of both "354" and "387" on the PDF and didn't find anything. I'm not saying your lying, I just wanted to read it. I like your source. :)

I need to clarify what Homebiz wants - is it how much each is spending on the campaign, or what the budget of each would be, presuming they tax/spend according to their proposed plans? I presumed the latter, for the figures I posted.

PHP, it's a total of the categories, for each candidate. They don't do it, so we have to. Yep, it looks like a great resource.

At OP: This was your poll, and your intent was obvious. No comments from the usual suspects, when shown McCain's budget is pretty damn close to Obama's budget, at the end of the day?

I guess I'm not surprised. Some are in a real twitter over Obama's use of the lipstick on a pig analogy (used by millions daily), but can't seem to be brought to answer a square question, namely, Palin's naming Obama, the Democratic nominee for the presidency, as a traitor to his country, in so many words, at her much vaunted coming out party at the RNC.

I came back to this from another post, and see that Homebiz has amended his OP to specify he is asking who will spend more money on the campaign.

I missed the thread title, so posted on who's plan will bust the budget more, believing this was what Biz was asking. Sorry for the mistake, OP. Given this is your desire, I'd agree with Browntwn's assessment.

That said, I do find it funny that the impetus behind the thread, as I'm able to discern it, is to "out" who is the more lavishly irresponsible, spendthrift candidate.

Having posted a non-partisan review, showing the difference between John McCain and Barack Obama to be a negligible difference, there remains a silence, respecting McCain's public posture as a fiscal disciplinarian. I do wonder why.

Obama's ability to raise money is quite impressive. He has raised around 600 million dollars and still has 14 days togo. What will he do with the excess?

    Cash on Hand: $133,649,692
    Debts: $691,446
Date of last report: Sep 30 2008 12:00AM

"2008 boosted Obama into the position of the most successful presidential fundraiser ever, in addition to the Democratic nominee. From the start he's had no problem bringing in the money or appealing to new donors, and has relied on small online donors and bigger donors nearly equally. After becoming the nominee, he opted out of the public financing system, making him the first major-party candidate since the system was created to decline taxpayers' money for the general election."
