lol...this is getting hot . AS I said....we have two sections, so from now on, everybody that wants to nominate a site...has to nominate two, and only two: 1 one of theyr own, and 2. one that they saw and liked very much. For people that have more thatn one directory: the second one must not be yours !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok? do we have a deal?

While this is still a pretty new thing, I agree with the idea that self nomination should be discourages, or else we will get a lot of link dropping (more quantity that quality).

 

The only reason I nominated my directory is I spent hours upon hours designing and customizing the directory.

I think nominations should only be for custom directories, regardless if it's by the owner or not.

By Custom, I mean completely free from the Free Templates offered.

Yes, I hear you and understand. I hope you weren't offended, as I wasn't trying to call you out here. I totally agree that using a pre-made template would be a reason we would not want to accept a nomination.

This thread has certainly taken a wrong turn somewhere. Anyway, some nice suggestions have been made in this thread including a few directories I had not seen before. May have to submit some sites now.

There have only been a handful of good sites to consider.

Whether or not yours was consider, well, I guess that remains to be seen.
If you don't like it, you don't have to keep nominating your own directory, even though it's been asked that you don't.



And to you 'paidhosting' i'm glad that you don't care, since your sites will never see the light of day in any of the SOTM featured listings.

By all means, keep modifying your directories with templatemonster rips and calling them yours.
