    providing downloading link is legal ?

    i am running a youtube power site means a video indexing site videos from youtube ... some day ago i add download link for seen video means see video or download link for download . but my friend said to me it is illegal . google may will be disable your account . i wanna just how many reality have in his statement ? he just joke me OR it is seriously copyright matter ? when i ask for his reason he tell me why youtube not give download link ?:eek:


    please guide me with reason able remarks and comments .thanks for helping me

    First off, unless you have permission to redistribute the videos, you are probably infringing on the copyright of the creators of the videos. Some YouTube uploaders give you permission to embed the videos, but that is not the same as permission to download them. Also, many of the YouTube videos infringe the copyright of others (for example most TV shows, music videos, and movies). By allowing those to be downloaded you are also contributing to copyright infringement.

    Having copyright-infringing content on your site is against Adsense policies, so yes, you could have your account disabled. There is also the risk of having the creators of the content, such as Viacom, come after you directly for copyright infringement.

    Also, you are directly violating the YouTube terms of use, which state:
    Since Google also owns YouTube, they wouldn't look kindly on you breaking the terms.
