Barack Obama describes his oldest brother in his book Dreams From My Father, Abongo (Roy) Obama inherited their father's hard-drinking ways but straightened his life out by embracing Islam and his African heritage. Abongo "Roy" Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture."

Obama interrupted his New Hampshire campaigning to speak by phone with Odinga, his cousin. Odinga a Kenyan opposition leader has made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shariah courts throughout the country.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN HON. RAILA AMOLO ODINGA REPRESENTING HE ORANGE DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT (ODM) AND NATIONAL MUSLIM LEADERS FORUM (NAMLEF)

Well, having a brother who says things like this,
    Could be a political liability.

That article about his mother and wife becomes even more interesting now, the idea of a family that may not be very happy with America, what it was, or what it is.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't been happy with the last 100 years, so maybe Obama and I have something in common.

I went to his campaign website to read his issues section. He promises everything under the sun, and I don't know where he will get all the money for it. Better get the money printing press ready...

"Fight Global Poverty: Obama will embrace the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme poverty around the world in half by 2015, and he will double our foreign assistance to $50 billion to achieve that goal. He will help the world's weakest states to build healthy and educated communities, reduce poverty, develop markets, and generate wealth."

Somehow he will turn our economy around and help all of the poor in the US, at the same time he will double the foreign assistance. Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Too many promises that sounds fantastic, but where is he going to get the fundings? The path to hell is paved with good intentions. While all these sounds fantastic, achieving it is extremely difficult given the current USA deficit. I think McClain can give him a hard time asking him to substantiate on what he is saying.

Barack Obama promises $4,000 credits to help pay college tuition and rebate the first $500 of Social Security payroll taxes

Obama proposes tax cuts for senior citizens and college students, and $500 for every wage-earner, totaling $80 billion-$85 billion a year.

Obama also promises a $60 billion investment in infrastructure and an $18 billion per year boost in education spending.

This is pretty typical for the Democrats.

I really don't know what to make of Obama. I mean, the pandering is so thick, you have to think that it's not real, and he has no intention of doing all of that when he gets into office.

But then again, he's a relatively unknown quantity. Maybe he really thinks he can be the next FDR.

All I know is, you don't help people by subsidizing them. Bailouts, and handouts don't create upward mobility, they create a state of servitude and dependency.

People need freedom and opportunities, not welfare.

I don't know our exact debt, but I think it is like 9 trillionish. Our economy is slumping and the value of the dollar is going down and down because we cannot back it up. I think the only way he can keep his promises is to start printing money like crazy and drive the US into a severe depression. All the while he will be budgeting 50 billion to feed people in other countries?

Well, all of the big government folks will love that, because when you have a depression, the government spends all kinds of money it doesn't have.

New departments, more government employees, more paychecks from government programs.

Like I said, Obama is a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, inside an enigma. Is he for real or what?

Look what else he plans to do, he will spend $10 billion dollars a year so that the government can require your health records be made electronically.
If you read on same page, he is also requiring by law that children have insurance. He is also going to start an independent institute to compare medical data...
His health care plans are extensive, if Obama becomes president the government will begin to control all healthcare in this country.

Now you are calling yourself a troll.... You are now the one who is assuming, because I really did think you were one for socialism. Nothing you said direct like "I am a socialists" but probably more from talking to people in my past that lined up much of what you said about your schooling, etc...

No hidden intentions, no bandwagon, I really thought it was what you supported.

Not really a hunch, it was just what I assumed (yes, again, sorry) from reading some of your posts. I didn't see it as name calling, etc.. Like saying Will Spencer is an atheist - something he calls himself.

Debunked, not sure that I said anything about my schooling - except that I went to Berkeley, and you have an idea in mind of what Berkeley "means" - that led you to conclude I am a socialist. Truth be told, my education was centered on a historical look at Western European (and, to some extent, Middle Eastern) political-economic, "national" development, and "socialism" wasn't a part of the mix, at least in any normative sense. If my school prima facie led you to some of your conclusions, you may want to consider that Berkeley is a living institution, not a film from 1968.

Beyond, making a statement without any facts in place is exactly what I said it was - making a statement as to someone's beliefs ("he likes socialism") without any facts is, well, an assumption, necessarily. And further saying this is why I support this candidate's candidacy is, well, necessarily, mindreading intents. As I said.

On another note, I am glad to see the contentions have come down (for the most part) to facts. The two things mentioned here, healthcare and foreign policy: in healthcare, his program seeks a a realization of increased efficiencies, and incentives to reward the same. There is no doubt he will not be liked by the current healthcare industry paradigm – incentives to encourage standards in medical care over “turn and burn” patient billing, opening pharmaceuticals to international competition, and the like. In foreign policy his policy is one of engagement, and the good faith participation of America in the world. He does not favor an America engaged in profitless wars, nor does he seek some idealized state of a Fortress America that never was – from the inception of the 13 colonies, the myth notwithstanding, America has not been an isolationist nation, and it shouldn’t be one now. The one anomaly was the interwar period, and it was a disaster. The world can never again afford an international system resting on beggar-thy-neighbor policy, such as existed 1919-1939.

On a smaller scale, his will also be an engaged presidency, not the Administration of a Fortress presidency - resting on legislation by veto, or by caveat. His bent is negotiation and leadership, and I applaud the ability here as well.

I understand this is all anathema to folks that believe there is only a place for “user fees” in public funding, and no place for taxation (and what taxes buy in the way of social goods - such as medical care for disabled vets: depend on individuals, or make it a national commitment?); that government can only foul the works; and that America should withdraw from all foreign involvement. I can also respect the position. I respectfully disagree.

I can't imagine him winning against McCain, primarily due to his ineptness and completely lack of experience.

Prime example of this was his stupid al qaeda comment the other day.. Reminds me of that line from "Idiocracy" where Luke Wilson's character is called "Tarded"...

    Hey Obama, are you tarded?

Anyway, I really hope Obama takes it all.. I hope he wins the primary and the general election... Then I hope he carries through with his idiocracy plans.. I hope we get attacked again, just like 9/11, so the world, and the rest of the tarded people can be reminded again just what we are trying to accomplish.

I think we really need another good kick in the ASS here in the US... I think Obama is our man, he's the one to do it.. I am behind him one hundred percent! We need a tarded person in the White House for once to remind America what freedom costs!

I say this with all sincerity btw!

Did you see signed documents that Odinga where made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shariah courts throughout the country.

Odinga is Obama's cousin and they are in direct communication.

Here's the link to the signed documents:

i'm hopeful that most people that are that small minded & ignorant wouldn't be voting for him anyway so he's not really losing out any votes from such stupidity.
