Certainly, its my yankee pleasure. WWI ends...French and Brits split the Ottoman Empire up into places that look good geographically. Unfortunately, they did not take into account the local populations...Iraq, Lebanon, Syria...all the current problems may have been avoided. Being a monday morning QB is extremely easy, but Lebanon could have remained a stable locale....as well as what is currently Iraq. The only possible way for those "states" to remain viable is/was through quasi-dictatorships as the people have no common interests.

I came across this situation a couple of days ago in a coffee shop across from my job. The guy in the shop was reading an article and muttering "they are always mad at someone" He had to explain to me what was going on. He then said something like..."they can behead people and kill their own people and they never say anything..but they get pissed off about cartoons" And that is the way I feel. It takes concerted effort to develop protests...let alone a lot of protests in a lot of countries. Just once those same countries might say something about muslims killing muslims, muslims killing non-muslims, muslims treating women like dirt, etc. It's not just an us against them thing. Its a sick society. It is currently supported by incredibly high oil prices that give the middle east part of the muslim world a huge and increasing level of power that they feel free to use more and more. The rest of the world better band together quickly to deal with what is a rising world problem.
To bad that our policy has made our enemies filthy rich, the Russians and Iran are laughing all the way to the bank while America and it's citizens are raped by the oil companies! Iran and Russia would not care if the war in Iraq lasted until Kingdom Come because they benefit from world record oil prices.
