I can call this one of the worst days in 2008. Google AdSense has suspended showing ads on my main website because of adult material found. Let me tell you what we are facing with: - A teen social network, where teens upload photos and share comments - moderators work alot on removing bad profiles/photos, obviously when they upload tons of photos per day, it's kinda hard keeping track of everything and well my mistake, never made the "report profile" button for users to report other users, still, this isn't the case. - I totally suspect an ex-partner trying to take me out of business by creating a fake profile and uploaded pornography photos, and well, reported to Google Adsense, they saw it, and bamm! Strike 3, Scorp's out! I'm like... staring on the screen... can't believe how easily they took me down. Any advice other than "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" ?
Send a appeal to them telling them exactly what happen and try to provide whatever logs and information that can support you.
I'm getting sick of the "We are sorry, please read TOS again and again" Hopefuly you will be right wisdomtool and well I'll get back in, if not... :-<
there is an appeal process. just send an apeal explaining what happened and that you will be more carefull in the future monitoring user uploaded site content.
Bidvertiser sucks Adbrite doesnt pay paypal NeverBlueMedia can't do a phone call right.. CPX not replied Tribal no way .... ?
My Advice is to code it so that each upload needs approval. You can add in a check for trusted members - who stick by the rules. All new profiles would be under probation as such and moderators would need to approve uploads. If appealing, you can outline the new process put in place that should ensure no adult material or anything breaking the adsense TOS would be uploaded. Also have the report button in place for flagging material and also a checkbox on the upload screen that needs to be ticked that states something to the following affect: I agree this upload complies with the TOS of *yoursite* and I accept all legal implications if it violates the rules. Your details may be forwarded to the correct legal authorities for abusing this service. The words are obviously to discourage any uploads that are unsuitable, but will also show Google how serious you are about making reforms to your site so that it complies with their TOS.
Send them that clearance mail... perhaps you will be lucky... you have nothing to lose! I saw a few days someone here at DP who got his account back after such a mail.... so there is a small chance! Good luck!
scorpiono, i'm sorry to hear this happened to you. maybe you could try ttzmedia, chitika, azoogle, clicksor, targetpoint? and do try to make an appeal with adsense. it's worth a try. good luck!
I'm losing big bucks, thanks for the encouragement though, I'm still staring.... and staring.. !@#$ happens..
Best advice right there, Change your "SOP" ( standard operating procedure ) AND THEN email google. Just don't email them with a "come on man" Change equals results ! No change and expecting results = insanity Hope that helps !
Yes, I've already told them I'm implementing the report profile function and after that if they can unsuspend, just showed the information I have realted to "premeditated" act, since it wasn't just a random user, I have an IP match with a... guy I know was into competition.
Actions speak WAY louder then words, start coding / hire a coder as asap. That function could be coded in a few hours,
Got the classic "You violated, !@#$ you, good bye!" from AdSense. This means it's permanently suspended, huh? I'll stick to flat advertisement - no more networks! Who cares for $10/day loss, right?
If I was an Adsense worker, I wouldn't accept you back. Unless you implement manual authorization, you basically doing nothing. You should also complete the work before requesting a review. Peace,
I have been warned about 3 -4 times for putting adult related content in my site but it was merely some sex related youtube videoz . I replied them and everytime they say its ok but dont repeat again neither i dun want to get banned from adsense for putting some adult related youtube videos.
well, I think its some automated system who keeps on rejecting the appeals. Perhaps, its a lesson not to depend on Google as a sole income - they banned an entire company - incrediblemail for TOS violation - while that might be a valid case, there are many innocent publishers who get chopped and thats how it works with Google becoming a monopoly
