    Hi guys,

No I do not have a product to sell but feel free to rep me :)

I did achieve page 1 rank in under 30 minutes on Google for my keyword.

    Here is what I did.

I'm not going into specifics of the actual keywords. I use the free wordtracker version.

    1. Keyword research

I am promoting a product as an affiliate. This product is really hot. the main keyword has over 10,000 searches a day. I digged a bit and found a long tail keyword that gets about 100 searches a day. It is a bit low but I think it is a good narrowly defined keyword that fits well with the product I'm trying to promote.

    2. Website

Anyhow I created a free blog with the longtail keyword as the name of the blog.

    3. Content

I created 3 articles in the blog with a link straight to the vendor's website. Two of the articles have the same long tail keyword as title and also in the text a few times.

    4. I pinged the blog at pingomatic

    5. After about 10 minutes I did a search on google for my longtail keyword like thus "long tail keyword", and viola my new blog is number 8 on the first page including the two paid sites for that term.

I am a new at this however I have been dabbling in buying up a few domain names.

Please leave me some advice or suggestions on how to further help this blog out.

So I will see what comes of this. If this helped you please rep me :)

My main blog I started a week ago is here ebusinessdirectory.info it is not doing so good in the rankings yet though

Sounds like new page bounce. See what happens after a few days or week or 2. The site will move in serp.

It is easier to get such rankings with blogs, but difficult to maintain it over a longer period of time

It is difficult to get such rankings with websites in a short period of time, but once you get it those rankings are much easier to hold on than with blogs

have you tried refreshing your browser or try to open a new one then put your site's url. it could be an error on the toolbar - like it's not updating instantly.. because it happened to me so many times - (ex. im here on dp, then i opened my site which is on my bookmarked, then the toolbar pr still shows dp's pr instead of my site's pr. tried refreshing it but still not updating.. but when i reopened my site to a new browser, i got my real pr - which is ofcourse lower than dp's pr.

    but if so -
is it really possible to get a pr in lessthan an hour?!
i thought there is a certain month count for pr update..

or do you mean, rank 1 on google search?

Yes I did refresh and it is still the same.

Here is what I did notice though. Of all the pages that came up for that search term Mine was the only one where the article for that search term was highlited. SO the search came up my main page and then the subpage underneath it.

    I hope that makes sense?

    sounds too easy
are you sure that this keyword you are ranking for is worth any good?
are you getting any traffic thanks to your high SERP rank?

sometimes those keyword research tools give you inflated results

This is easily done with a new site. The problem is keeping it on page 1. If you don't mind, please post the URL so we can look at your site in a bit more depth:)

Pretty interesting and a quick entry into google. But I find when I first have a site indexed at google it ends up high for some average terms. Sometimes it stays there for a few days, I've had a few stay there for over a week, but they all eventually disappear out of the top100.

if you are number 1 and no traffic, only idea is to get a new keyword. the reason you are number 1 in 30 min because there is no competition for that keyword.

..... competing pages of 500-600??? SEO we may talking about 100,000,000 of competing pages and above. Any way good start to SEO. Long tail search terms are what many are missing... Once you get a number of long tail keyword ready in SERPs, then move on to optimize for yur main keywords.

It's pretty normal for a blog and less competitive keywords.

    Ok,

So there was some traffic but no sales yet. about 15 hops

BTW I do not have acces to my traffic logs so I'm judging traffic from the hops coming in.

It is a free blog, but I could see no widgets or plugins for stats in the Control panel.

If any on eknow of a way I can check traffic stats let me know PLS.

    Anyway I will update tomorrow
