Many of the "interventions" (MANY times overthrowing democratic governments to place dictatorships) have the purpose of keeping America being a great place. Unfortunately those interventions bring misery, violence and death for the intervened countries. I guess they should be grateful for being allowed to contribute to America's greatness with their suffering.

Sometimes you have to crawl before you can walk, a country that has been kept in bondage may suffer a bit in the liberation, but the future gained is worth it in the long run. And any country that was once enslaved to its government, and is now as free as a bird, will surely testify to that.

Well you may laugh now but if you are a canadian, as it says in your location, answer this, Who will your country cry for when it gets attacked? You think the french are gonna fly over and bail you out? I doubt it. We (america)stick our nose where it doesnt belong, but 90% of the time its requested.

Bad try. I'm from South America, one of the places where American interventions caused more misery (unrequested BTW). As for Canada, of course it would be great if US helped in that case (as it was the case during WW2 and other conflicts) but it wouldn't be great if the US tried to induce a coup because they don't like Canadian policies.

    Peace, anyways

History shows almost everyone to be guilty. Except maybe the Aussies and Canadians.

I wish the OP wasn't banned, because the greatest threat to world peace in my opinion, is APATHY.

No one gives a crap how many people die. No one cares how many people die in their place, or for their freedom. No one cares. They just want to play XBOX 360 and watch Dancing with the Stars. Narcissistic swine.

Sure thing, I agree 100% that states is a good place to live and that you do everything for your country to become an even better place to live, etc. But, you are overdoing it on international arena when its not even needed, thats what pisses off everyone I can tell from my opinion. Once GWB is out we'll see if that international strategy changes.

With our sanctions against Estonia, I guess Russia is the biggest threat to Estonia only....:)

Pehaps you are correct, ive wondered my self why we stick our nose out there so much. But If your friend was being attacked by a mugger that you knew you could scare off, wouldnt you try to scare him off?

No, what he and most people that think this way would do is talking about how it was his fault for being mugged in the first place. If he had just stayed out of that neighborhood in the first place, he never would have been mugged.

You need to realize that muggers are people too, and they have rights. Their not bad people, just mis-understood. He should really try to be a bit more tolerant.

Misunderstood, You think we should be tolerant of them huh? Well that type of thinking is what causes countries like Iraq to get so bad. Everyone just tolerates it. If people picking apples start tolerating a bad apple here and there, one bad apple becomes another, and so on, until the bushel isn't worth buying.

A guy comes and musgs me, punches me in my face, and takes my wallet, it is my understanding he wants my money, and doesn't care if i get hurt in the process. Am i misunderstanding here? I dont think i am.

    Someone missed the sarcasm...

Now can you begin to understand the feelings some have when it comes to dealing with Terrorism? Why we in the US want to be pro-active and and on the offensive?

Tolerance is another word for saying, I don't like what you do, but it's just fine with me. Tolerance = Acceptance...

I don't accept what I think is wrong. Nor should anyone.

Seems to me that Tolerance might be one of the biggest threats to world peace.

But that is my point.. That is the stance of a vast number of people.. Granted there are times when turning the other cheek is just fine.. Someone taunts you are calls you a name, no need to get in a fist fight. Someone harms your child, or attempts to, you have ever right to go ape shit on them.

Terrorists call US, stupid Americans.. Fine.. I can live with that.. I know they are talking about 1/3 the population.. Whatever..

Terrorists try to, or do bomb Americans even the stupid ones? That, I cannot live with, its time to fight.

    This absolutely blows my mind.

Tolerance is not acceptance. It's tolerated, not endorsed.

You shouldn't have to accept what is wrong, I agree, however no one else should have to accept what you think is right and wrong, wouldn't you agree?

You can't have individual freedom, unless people are allowed to make their own choices. One person, or even a majorities opinion, can trample on the rights of the individual.
