I heard we have to start being more careful when adverting our diggs, I'm wondering if we should even go as far as renaming the work Digg with another similar name would work and we could also stop supplying live urls. Does this make any sense? I guess if caught Digg will ban our account and if this is true it's no goo Digg brings in a lot of traffic for my blog site and I don't want this to happen Or is this already in affect and I'm just a noob?
I never post live links or even masked links as in shortened ones. I always put it in a code box like this: http://digg.com/yoursite/yoursite Code (markup): I haven't had a problem. Might want to try it. ~Meener
As long as you don't post live links and you know what to do and what not to do in digg you should be fine!
Don't use live links for one. Use Mirrors on your site, Code boxes, or place a dig button directly on your site. A mirror or direct button would be the best IMHO.
Or alternatively SliceUrl, where you have additional domain support and custom shortcuts - I know, shamless plug
Digg will catch you even if you think you are smart enough to fool them. Stumble Upon has changed their terms also and the same thing will happen to them. I think DP should should just ban both Digg and Stumble request. It would also free up the freebie section for true freebies.
Comments will only make you caught faster. I've seen people give comments such as: 'nice info' 'thanks, will try it' 'great site, awesome design' And these comments showed up on a story about some sort of racial discrimination case.
