Most of you know that -a great number of highly reputed directories along with many other sites of varied nature have recently been penalized of SERPs by Google. G has been de-indexing pages from most of these sites. One of my directories has also been penalized. I have been checking it everyday and keeping tracks of it indexed pages. Previously it had around 3500 (1100 + supply pages) indexed pages and now it only has 365 indexed pages. Most of you also know that Google has withdrawn showing of supplementary results. What I see from my current indexed pages is that- all the pages now indexed were previously treated as supplementary results- except of course the homepage URL. So- I have just started believing that- Google is still tasting its new Algo that would automatically prune out the supplementary pages out of its SERPs and is trying the algo that differentiate between Unique pages and supply pages. I also believe that the current de-indexed pages are the unique ones and once Google is confident of its new algo- it will put those pages back on the index.I would like to hear your opinions. Some sites that I have been tracing has already started gaining their pages back in a big way. Here is the result for my directory
I'm not really sure what you mean by this. Why would G have to do anything to find supplemental pages? Those pages are in a totally different dbase so G knows exactly where they are. /*tom*/
Sorry for the late reply. What I meant by that was - the New G Algo might easily find the duplicate pages and won't even keep a DB for them. They will be automatically prunned from the index. All hypothetical.
I think that to identify non-supplemental pages you can still use site:www.sitename.com/* and to identify supplemental pages you can still use site:www.sitename.com -site:www.sitename.com/*
