Is DP turning into chaos? Fraud, cheating, scamming....

So Ive been using DP for quite sometime now, always loved it.... Done a small number of transactions with DP members and until now only had only one problem (scammed by some "cheap hosting" offer where after a few months I lost a fully working site with hundreds and hundres of members!). I noted that I was not the only one, and the last few weeks I am seeing plenty of other cases of scams, lies, public slandering, and am wondering what the hell is going on??

I understand this is all over the internet and not a DP issue, but Im wondering if there is going to have detrimental effects on DP? I know for a fact, that Ive been reluctant lately to do business on here with DP members (especially newer ones).... And to be honest, I havent even been on here as much as I used to be and this is definitely one of the reasons...

So what, is it the end of the good old days on DP? Is DP now a main focus point for scammers (probably due to the large number of members and traffic)? Its like with pickpockets who rob the poor tourists in the busiest areas of town... Is there a solution to this? Would it make sense to make new members by invitation only? Or perhaps they are not allowed to post in the businessplace forums for some time?

Very interested to hear other's opinions...

you have answered the question some how here.

cheap hosting : well if they go for cheapest stuff who is gonna give u gurantee for it, lets take example of chinese products there is not gurantee, u buy from market, come back home, if it breaks up then ur out.

its the members who buy need to be cautious, scammers are there all over the world but newbies need to be aleart, ask up before buying and taking a decision, take possible reviews from experienced and old members.

Sh*t happens, but try to look on the bright side. Many members do business here and they're happy. Many new members are honest sellers and buyers. There's one thing everyone should keep in mind, if something sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Personally I don't believe when people say "Earn $500/day by doing nothing". It's most likely possible for big companies and popular websites, but when people come here and say you don't need a website/budget etc etc and you can make thousands a day and they sell their "technique" for $500, it's 99,99% a scam. There's no easy money. You need to put some effort (and money) before you can make hundreds a day.

There is a new scammer here who is going to scam loads of people out of $1,000's of cash, i warned, but i got a 2pointer infraction for 'attacking members'.

I was only trying to help, he is a known scammer, he scammed me, and nobody cares.

The moderators are being total idiots, i am severly angry, because you are 'interfering with other members'. I never attacked the member, i reported him for a good reason, and i replyed for a good reason.

Too many scammers and liers here, and i am getting sick of every other day someone complaining about it, and nobody here gives a s***.

I then get a PM threatening to 'sue me if i post like that again', from the scammer i tryed to warn people about.

I get a 2 pointer infraction for a potentually 1 pointer infraction, i get a PM from the scammer threating to sue me, and my post GETS DELETED, DESPITE IS BASED ON FACT, AND NOT OPINION.

suckered.us is a scammer, he scammed over 20 people at namepros, and he is about to ruin digitalpoint forums too.

There is only so much i can handle, but you pushed the bar. I am now starting to consider whether i should help the moderators. I make at least 10 reports of posts which break the rules a week, but never once did you consider that i was doing this for the benefit of the community, and i have no personal gain tramping though 1,000's of posts just to help.

But then when i help in public writing you give me infractions and DELETE THE HELP.

THANKS FOR SORTING OUT MY REPORTS, BUT I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THIS LATEST INFRACTION, AND THAT POST SHOULD not HAVE BEEN DELETED

    .................Rob

I agree to some extent; this used to be a very technically based forum but now there are one to many 'schemes'.

What there needs to be more of is solid discussions on what makes good web design and SEO as well as community projects that enable mutual promotion of our services and sites.

Having said that it's still an interesting forum to peruse - you just have to use your common sense to weed out the dross.

    ...I'm still here afterall ;)

Most people here are new to the internet, and therefore common sense is something which they don't have, because they don't know how internet business works yet.

I don't know how much clearer it needs to be for you to understand it.

Go back and read this thread where you asked about outing "scammers" in their sales threads.

You asked about doing it, were given a way to "out" scammers in threads and even said that's how you would handle it.

Then you turn around and do exactly what you were told (again) was against the rules (calling someone a scammer in their sales thread) followed up by a complaint about getting an infraction.

    Breaking rules = infractions.
    Breaking rules = infractions.
    Breaking rules = infractions.

Link to profile. (Yes I was banned there but I paid RJ thousands and thousands of dollars in advertising and NP purchases only for him to allow stupid idiots I never even dealt with business wise to make up lies and internet rumours and if anyone wants to believe that #%# feel free. Hell I had at one point people I'd never even done a business deal with jumping into a thread saying I owed them money. What a joke.

    http://www.namepros.com/traderrating...e=1&viewtype=0

Personal View? Namepros is a shitty site with shitty members. RJ can sure take your money but when it comes to clarifying truth from fiction .. well.. I'd rather not give him any more business ever. I was banned because people who I never even did business with IE YOU made up a bunch of lies and now you're carrying it here. IF you're seriously so stupid not to understand, EVEN though I have complete paperwork that I purchased a business in Nov / Dec 2005 from someone who had prior issues without my knowledge (Actually bought 3 that month) all LTD and LLC .. and had no prior knowledge of that person's doings and ended up dealing with THIER crap because of people like you then you've got a wire or two missing. People like YOU are the reason a business I paid 80,000 for failed. How DARE you.

DNForum -Adam Dicker is a good sort.- PS Adam Dicker is also the one who verified who I was and that I was NOT some guy who I bought that from HENCE Why I'm still a member there gaining more ITRADER.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was banned on namepros for clocking up 20 warning points, i never attempted to rip anybody off.

I did deserve the ban, but i just disagreed with the fact that it was a 6 month ban, and not a sorter ban.

NamePros is a better community than here, but here they don't ban scammers.

    ^Robert Allan is seriously delusional.

Sometimes people who have the perfect record can turn into a scammer overnight. You can do all the research you want, but it is still a risk.

I suggest for anyone that gets scam to post a topic about it in the Legal Issues forum with some proof, and then the supposed scammer can defend his or her self.

It would be nice if there was a better system, but what can you do.

Due to high traffic and the amount of members DP has - scammers and other people target such forums, this is their target #1 if we can say so, we all know how famous the marketplace here at DP is.

We cannot blaim such issues on the moderators guys, there's a few mods - and it is impossible to check every sale here at DP, in that case DP would need an much larger amount of moderators; in order to check them.

In addition, I would like to say one thing - These kind of things happen, and all we can do is - try and find the person and open disputes etc, and hopefully if we have the luck on our side; get our money back. Unfortunately, many disputes against scammers are not turning positive, I certainly hope that PayPal in the near future improves in the way they handle these disputes.

There is a pretty nice guide in the DP marketplace, you can find it and read it several times; and remember do your research before you buy anything from webmaster forums; it's different purchasing things online. I know for a fact, that purchasing something that looks 'too good to be true' is, it always turns out bad, so I would advise anyone here at DigitalPoint, read that FAQ; this will assure you to have a good sale.

I hope nobody is offenced by my post - I am sad to see that new and nice members are suffering by these scammers, but all we can hope is that these scammers stop. And for example, things like "earn 500$ per day, without no work!", these are always fake, do you really believe anyone would share such thing? Use common sense.

EDIT: Remember, if you are purchasing something that is expensive - I am referring to premium sites and further things - ask for the sellers address, and a valid phone number; call him and see if the number is valid; cause if he is a serious seller he shouldn't have anything against giving out personal information.

    Regards,
    Meti

It's also quite pathetic when people you've never done business with decide to follow a bandwagon like Mr Allen and say things that aren't true. Just because you read something on the internet doesn't make it true.

who ever gets scam is his own fault, stop crying and begging for moderators to help you.

I actually have to admit that some moderators are idiots here, actually i have had a problem with one of them, but it is better just to ignore them. If they really piss me off then i go hunting, but for the moment i won't waste my time.

I have never been scammed on dp or somewhere else, despite the fact that i have done several transactions.

The ebooks sold here are in majority threads from other forums. I actually have seen an ebook sold here which was a copy paste from another thread on other forums. Do not pay hundreds of dollars for information, here it is not worth it.

Rob is on drugs, you can check his other threads, that s why he is posting like hell bullshiting other members.
