Doesn't this just reveal Paul's misunderstanding of the issue. Killing Bin Laden won't do anything. It's an ideology, not a person. Until he realizes that militant islam wants to kill us, he won't grasp the issue.

Did you miss Paul saying that mall security guards are our first line of defense guerilla? Better than the marines, CIA, FBI, etal?

You're right that its more of an ideology, but to say nothing would happen if we killed Bin Laden is a mistake. That's like saying nothing would happen if we killed the leader of North Korea. We need to rid the world of these crazy leaders who do nothing but promote death and suffering.

What Paul is saying, is that if one subscribes to bringing Bin Laden to justice, as Bush once did, and was endorsed to do by Paul and the American people, then Letters of Marque and Reprisal would likely yield better results, and cost significantly less in money, and American lives.

We're nearly 4,000 deaths and countless wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq, not to mention the Billions spent, and are no closer to bringing Bin Laden to justice than we were 4 years ago.

It's been very sketchy as to the truth about Al Queda in Iraq prior to the American presence. If we're at war with an ideology, why are we climbing into bed with Sunni militant groups who are war criminals in Anbar province? Isn't this exactly the sort of Islamic corruption (see the Saudi Princes) that Bin Laden has challenged the West on? Why are we handing out bundles of cash to ethnic cleansers that are working to undermine the democratically elected Iraqi government?

Paul is a former Air Force officer, and has a lot of military support. He was obviously baited, and fell for the bait, but that makes him no less a patriot for serving his country in a time of war, serving on the Congress or working in charity/veteran hospitals.

This is typical of the self-loathing and neo-fascism of the neocons. We tear down our legitimate heroes, and prop up the deserters like Bush.

It's demanded of them, from their understanding of their religion. It's been going on for hundreds of years - is this new to you or something?

It's two different situations, though. Religious extremists are following an ideology, they all believe in it and are willing to die for it. People who are in NK are just trapped and can't get out of the situation they are currently in. Killing Kim may or may not improve things there, it all depends on who takes over. Killing bin laden wouldn't do much, they'd just continue on blowing shit up and doing it in his name. That's all.

He couldn't even outwit a guy on the radio. He stands a chance ;) Glad you can acknowledge this so quickly.

    Lorien,

Have you seen the latest documentaries on North Korea? Although most of that country is starving, those people still worship Kim Jung Il like he was a god. It's no exaggeration; they have his picture and paintings plastered all over the country. They've been brain-washed quite severely! This same type of propaganda occurs in the middle east, where kids are thought in school and mosques that we are the enemies, and we should be killed at all costs.

The biggest problems lies with the leadership. We need to break them down, and show these people the truth of what is going on. But it won't be easy because it's been generations of brain-washing going on.

There's a few primary differences though. In recent memory, N Korea was a free country. It was just Korea (with south Korea) - much like East and West Germany. Break down the northern government and the immediate influx of commerce from the south and the rebuilding of infrastructure would get rid of any "brainwashing" that exists. Probably similar to what happened (is happening) in Berlin and Germany.

The area is much smaller too, so there is less actual work that'd need to be done. And the S Koreans could do much of it on their own.

I've seen some pictures inside NK. There is some pyramid-like tower that was never completed that looks creepy. From some tourist who hid a camera on a tour or something.

In regards to the ME; the problem is so spread out - across nations, nationalities, etc that taking out a single person (leader) wouldn't amount to much. I'm not sure the problem can ever be stamped out; but I think by dividing the middle east and promoting secular democracies (iraq, turkey, etal) you can at least keep it to a minimum.

Well, I never disagreed with your point that killing one leader would solve the entire problem, but I do believe it would help. One less person feeding violent propaganda, the better.

What a bunch of bologny!! There has been christians and jews living in Muslim lands for centuries.
When that racist and apartheid state of Israel was created over the dead corpses of palestinians, many jews that were living in muslim lands such as Morocco, Tunisia, Iraq, Iran, etc... migrated to Israel.
If what you are saying is true and muslims intended to kill anyone that is not muslim, there would have no middle eastern jews (Sephardi) to migrate to Israel.
Also, there are still a bunch of jews who are living in the Middle East and even Iran who REFUSED to migrate to Israel even when Israel is offering them vast amount of money (bribing them) for them to leave muslim countries.

Iranian Jews refuse to immigrate to Israel despite cash incentives

What lie are you going to bring next????
You zionists are trying to spread hatred of muslims through lies and deceit.

As second class citizens. That is the nature of it. You can live as a christian/jew as long as you accept second class status and make certain concessions to your overlords.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhimmi#Qur.27anic_verse_9:29

Your twisted view of the creation of Israel don't make it reality.

Not all follow through on the demands, the militants do. That is why they are militants. It's not difficult.

How am I doing this? Can you explain how I'm wrong in any of these claims?

    Militants would disagree.

I thought for a minute that you were talking about the arab citizens of Israel who are clearly second class citizens.

There are palestinian christians, syrian christians, lebanese christians. Ask any of them if they feel like second-class citizens.
I know of a palestinian christian, who loves his country Palestine more than anything, and hates the Israelis with a passion. He is christian and arab. He gets along fine with his fellow countrymen who are muslim.
Also, Iranian jews are represented in the parliament in Iran even though the community is estimated at around 20,000. They refused to migrate to Israel even though they were offered $10,000/head to do so by Israel.

It is funny when I see that the most vocal (and dangerous people) who are trying to incite hatred of muslims are zionist jews. They are the same ones who pushed for the Iraq war and are trying to push the US to attack Iran.
There was a time when jews were persecuted in Europe by the nazis. Several jews were saved from the Nazis by Muslims.

You make my case for me quite well, with your constant ignorance and hate of jews. Look back at your threads and see how easily my case is made. Your life seems to be all about blaming the jews for everything. This is typical propoganda for you, isn't it?

Can you tell us ANY Arab country which offers Jews the right to be citizens, vote, own property, businesses, be a part of the government or have ANY of the rights which Israeli Arabs enjoy? Any Arab country which gives those rights to Christians? How about to other Arabs? Wouldn’t you just LOVE to be a citizen of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iran, or Syria?

Did you ever stop to wonder how much better off everyone in the region would be if Arabs stopped trying to kill Jews and destroy Israel? What would happen if the Israelis gave up their weapons and disarmed? Would they live to see the next day? But what would happen if the Arabs completely disarmed? You know the answer: They would all be AT PEACE! And if there is no war to rile them up, the Arabs would be forced to look at their own repressive, pre-medieval societies. Why would they want to do that when there are Jews to kill?

Have you heard “People who define themselves primarily by what they hate, rather than who they love, are doomed to failure and misery”? Can you see the parallels to the Arabs, who are blessed with land and oil, but still gladly train their children to kill themselves in order to kill Jews? Have you heard Golda Meir’s words to the effect of “There will be peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate ours”? Why do the Arabs hate so much?
