btw, This should not have been placed in suggestions & feedback. It was meant for General chat. My apologies. On a side note, what is the longest thread you have ever found?
Here is your quote.. and if you say so, then it is so - I wont see it happening... --------------------------------- Long lives the BUMP then
Those of you who haven't answered the question / haven't bothered to give their opinion but only pissed about bumping this (very funny) are annoying me. Here, have some negative karma. And some positive for those who did. ThinkBling - What's your opinion? I'm sure Shawn is working on his own algorithm to present the threads. Codename FTRPs. Forum Threads Result Pages. Bump filters are probably being developed, duplicates will be filtered and repetitive questions will be auto-answered with a link to the original thread. The FT ranking algo will keep it tidy here.
I'm more for subtle bumping. Asking an honest question in one post and then sending an update saying something like "I still haven't been able to figure this one out." Usually has more effect than "^^^^BUMP^^^^".
noooooo ! The bump thread is back! STOP IT - Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrgh....................... Enough already...............
<serious mode> occasional bumping to remind people there's an unanswered question doesn't bother me in the slightest -- it's easy on a busy forum for a post to get overlooked. And whether that is done with a "new post" ("Anyone have an answer to this?") or more blatantly (">> bump <<") doesn't matter to me either way. </serious mode> Now for those of you who don't like all this thread bumping, I'd advise you to do what I did: just stop posting to the thread and it will go away naturally.
There is nothing wrong with that... I just hate people bumping their old threads with a post that says, "Bump".
The only time I would "Bump" is when I have not had an answer to a specific question, and if no one replies the second time, then I give up
This thread is probably one of the reasons for the new DP policy on successive posts. After a while, even if it's amusing in the beginning, it's not funny any more, just annoying.
