Orchid Care Forum... VBseo optimized take a Look!

Discussion in 'Websites' started by Davey Crocket, Nov 9, 2005.

I recently built an orchid forum Called Orchidgeeks.com. It runs on Vbulletin 3.5 and uses VBseo to optimize the links. Notice how the links aren't "php?do=newthread&f=23" but instead keyword-Keywords.html :)

I have T2DMan to thank for optimizing my website well worth the money.

Anyways if anyone see's something that can be improved please let me know I would love feedback.

    Thanks for the compliment :)
Does it use more bandwidth if the header is at 100%? or the same.

Nice site. How was the VBSEO install? Easy 1,2,3? I have plans to do it shortly. Thanks for sharing your site.

    I discussed this here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=407574&postcount=21

Notice this site is well indexed? No vbseo mod here. vbulletin's forum is well indexed too. My forums are all well indexed.

Being listed #3 for orchid forum on MSN is nice. But MSN is the easiest to get ranked in. orchid forum is also searched 5 times a day according to word tracker, so what have you gained?

Look - vBulletin is indexed just fine out of the box. You should be spending your time and money on off site optimization and promoting your site. There is no quick fix IMO. I own a number of VB forums and dont use this mod on any of them. But, I see more and more people thinking vbseo mod will magically help their site get indexed. ALl I can say, is no mod rewrite will get you indexed or ranked well, thats going to happen because of your hard work, not some mod.

joeychgo I agree with you completely on one part. About 80% of your optimization should be spent offsite such as gathering good links. It's the 20% that I'm concentrating on now...after that it will be all off page.

I realize Vbulletin is fine out of the box but I want to squeeze VB for all its worth. Lets just say If I had a niche webmasters forum (which I might:D) and we take your webmaster forum ...I would want VBseo installed :) just to give me that little tiny % gain.

I also feel Users are more apt to click on a link such as keywords-keyword-bigkeyword.html than a link such as ne3dwalkht93=?nlklefed=2?23s.php

mudanoman..I had it installed for me, T2DineMan spent 8 hours with me, but that included setting up link-vault, tinkering with the titles and some more goodies. I don't think it would take more than an hour or 2 to do.

Looks a bit too "default" for my taste, but for a default-style skin it looks good.

While I understand, lets look at facts....

Do a google search for VBULLETIN - My webmaster forum (You could always offer to buy it from me instead of trying to beat me :) ) in on the first page. Where is vbweo.com? In fact, not one of the page one listings use that hack. Same thing with Yahoo and MSN.

If the site that promotes and sells the product isnt page one, how good can it be?
