$225 design --- "Page Quality" tool --- ends Tuesday, August 7

What will the winner receive?
If you win, you will receive $225 via PayPal. You will also have a VERY POPULAR design example to add to your resume! In addition, you will have bragging rights about designing a site that I anticipate will be extremely popular with DP members and webmasters around the world.

What will I (the contest holder) provide after each submission?
I will provide detailed feedback (including desired edits) after each submission.


When does the contest end?
This is a 3-day contest for the coded html design of the home page, including a creative header and logo art. The contest ends on Tuesday, August 7 at 8:00 PM, PST.


What are the requirements?

1. Read the rest of the simple requirements carefully

2. Absolutely no templates allowed

3. If you win, you must email to me all images, psd(s), AND coded html.

4. No submissions via PM; you must post your design in this thread.

5. You agree that after I pay you, the copyright of the design is 100% mine. You may not sell it (or an edited version) to anyone else--ever. The design will immediately become part of the registered trademark.

6. Page width = 850px

7. You must design around and incorporate the existing inputs and table (but do not edit them).

8. Consistent design motif throughout the page

9. Attractive, vibrant color scheme (I want a white background with blues used for other elements, particularly the aqua blue shades #004477, #004466, #005577. You should mix in other colors of your choice as tasteful highlights).

10. Header width = 850px

11. Left side of header must contain your one-of-a-kind, customized logo. It must be a creative, unique, brandable, "Pag eQuali ty.org" (remove spaces) image/drawing that somehow communicates "Page Quality" visually. This is where your creativity really counts!

12. The logo must also incorporate the following sub-text:
"Optimize for Humans, not Just Search Engines!"

13. Right side of header must contain log-in inputs (Email / Password, with "Remember me" checkbox), as well as a "Subscribe with PayPal" button

14. Center of header should be left open so that I can add text that explains the general purpose of the tool and site

15. Footer width = 850px

16. Footer must contain the existing copyright and trademark line

weird first time i heard

 

PayPal makes their own monthly "Subscription" payment buttons. However, what I want from all contestants is a customized "Subscribe with PayPal" button that matches the rest of the design that you create.

 

Something's wrong with the site though. I tested a few sites (one being my own) and uh... there's some inconsistancies. Im not sure how to explain it but something's not right.

Sorry, everyone. The site is currently down because it was assigned a dedicated IP a few hours ago. (I ordered the dedicated IP two weeks ago, but of course they decide to finally do it during my contest.) The domain is currently propogating to the new IP, and should be back up within a few hours . . . hopefully. I will probably extend the contest because of this downtime.

 

I started this, and then had to go somewhere and when I got back the site wasn't working so I couldn't get the correct copyright and trademark information so I just wrote a simple copyright till I can get the correct information. Here is my entry, it seems as I am the first! I hope you like it, because I do!!! I can edit anything you'd like! I hope I have a chance in winning!!! ^^

I request these edits:

1. "PageQuality.org," not "PAGEQUALITY"

2. "Optimize for Humans, not Just Search Engines"
NOT
"Optimized for Humans, not Just Search Engines"

3. The logo does not communicate "page quality" VISUALLY. Do you know what I mean? For example, you could incorporate a "trophy" into the logo. You have to be creative!

4. I want to change the PayPal subscription button to the following combination of text and PayPal "Free Trial" button:
"Not a Member?"


5. You altered the line containing the three (3) URL inputs. My requirements state that you must not alter any of the existing elements.

6. The footer must tie-in better with the header.

7. You need to add a border for the entire page.

veckd, this is also a good first submission.

I request these edits:

1. "PageQuality.org," not "PAGEQUALITY"

2. Use a font that does not squeeze the letters together so tightly; use normal text spacing; do not justify the "Optimize for Humans, not Just Search Engines" sub-text

3. The logo does not communicate "page quality" VISUALLY. Do you know what I mean? For example, you could incorporate a "trophy" into the logo to visually communicate the "quality" theme. This is the most important part of the contest, and you have to be creative!

4. Please move the log-in box higher and put the PayPal button (NOT a checkbox) under it, completely separate from the log-in box (see #5 below).

5. I want to change the PayPal subscription button to the following combination of text and PayPal "Free Trial" button:
