Hello friends, I've finished putting together www.showblocked.info. It has a welcome page, TOS page, a proxy submission+voting system like Digg w/ Google Ads sprinkled in. Please visit and let me know how I can improve it. Thanks.
I actually like that a lot. It's not like all of the other one page proxy websites, you have developed it further. I like how you have integrated the top sites into the website as well. The only thing I would change is: I would put the proxy on the main page somewhere, maybe at the bottom. As well as having it on the proxy page.
Wonderboy: Implemented your suggestion and made the change. fearman: You mean, I should put up a banner at the top?
The design is okay, for you need some graphics added to your layout. Try opening the site in IE 6, there is an adsense covered by your first grey table..
8everything: I will keep in the mind the graphics comment. Do you mind taking a screenshot of it in IE 6? Zerosleep: Did you try hard refresh? i.e., ctrl+F5?
I actually restarted my PC to see what happens how much hard shld I try anyways just tried Hard Refresh nothing Happens Might be some problem with my ISP
A very nice, simple & clean looking very site. I like the gray-red color combination, and also the menu. I also like the content graphics. Overall you did a good job.
The good proxy related site. i think you provided useful tools furthermore design is pretty good. good luck
I really like the site (especially because he is using my script from Zelune.net!!). I also like your thumbnail for the post, it gives you a good idea of websites before you click on them, and I wish everyone in DP did that. I like the digg idea too, except that once the site gets popular (I assume it will quickly), you might have people abusing the anonymous voting with proxies. Other than that, it looks like its ready to grow rapidly! You should throw up a post in the freebie section, and I am sure you will get a lot of new links/visitors.
Raithe: By default anon users can't submit to Pligg sites. I implemented a hacked code where in anon users can submit their sites for now. Once the site becomes popular, I'll switch back to 'only registered users can submit' so spam can be controlled. I actually announced it in Marketing section inviting proxy owners to submit their sites but got an infraction since apparently it was posted in the wrong section. That post is now moved to Solicitation forum. Thanks for your review.
Thanks vladut and Letcha. I am kind of groping in the dark when it comes to publicizing and promoting my proxy site. Is there any guide anywhere? Hardly anyone is using it.
