Do Supplemental indexing does any good for the website? I know that Supplemental Indexeing is itself disadvantageous, but still I want to know if at all there is any advantage of it!!!:p

I think there is one advantage. You don't have to spend long seconds with browsing among the referral keyword(s), keyphrase(s). ;)

Well uspplemental result do not have any bad effect on a website from my point of view. If you have quality content on your website even if is duplication(content exchange) it is very profitable. But dulicated content should be use sparingly. For value only.

I think supplemental content will affect your site keywords.

Does anybody know what one can do if a page seems to find itself in the supplemental index, in order to salvage it? I find some of my pages seem to drift for some unknown reason compared to other pages!

It reminds you that there is something to improve in your site. Either you need to eliminate your content or to build backlinks into it.

So any back links will help drag the offending page back out? How fast does Google recognise that? I heard that Google can keep you supplemental for around 12 months. If that is correct, is it probably best to eliminate the offending content and set up a new page?

That sounds like a far better time scale to me. Did you do anything in particular to associate the transfer back to the standard index?

Is there anyway using Google sitemaps to encourage Googlebot to spider supp indexed pages any faster? OR is it purely down now to increasing links into that page?

Just a link from your home page to the deeper page is often not enough to get the page out of Sup.

Site maps will have no bearing on Sup results.

I'm inclined to think that Supplemental Results are relative to the topic. High competition topics with millions of page on that topic will require more links to keep a page out of Supplimental. While with low competition niches a simple link from your home page is all that is need to keep a page in main index, no added external deep links required.

Topics like Loans, for example are so flooded on the net that Google see's not only duplication, but lots of similar stuff. So if you don't have enough deep links to compete, even if your original, you can end up in Sup.

    Anyone else thinking about that?

Just create your unique content to avoid supplemental results.
