it doesnt prohinit him from posting atall, all we are asking is for him to STOP the personal attacks and talk about the matter in hand. there are hundreds of thousands of people on this forum, and you dont see all of them mounting personal attacks on people in literally every post they make. they talk about the subject of that thread, not mount personal attacks like he has! ....i dont think thats too much to ask, is it?
I would say pagerank isnt important for some websites like :google, youtube,or any well known website but for someone thats just starting up it verry important
I agree with you monsterclips, my website is about 15 months old, and i am very "page rank orientated"
Yes, I noticed that. One day my toolbar would be showing 2, but when I check, it's 3. BTW, my PR dropped from 4 to 3 after I fixed my php code and now SE can read all my hidden pages. You think that sudden increase of pages and contens hurt my site?
Actually not sure why he is on my site as over at Webmaster-Talk I called him out on some nonesense he was saying. Ha isn't this a joyful day. Two baloneys make a big sandwich.
You bad talked your mom in public...? You are low. Ok, so is your total lack of any sort of response to the challenge about proof more an indication that you don't have any, or that there are too many posts in between there and now for you? Because if you have no actual proof, then even if you were right, you'd be wrong, due to the fact that you are presenting conjecture as fact. Also, since this thread is so long I do want to restate the view I put forward in this post: it's not the PageRank alone that matters, it's how you get it, with the primary focus being it's the PR of the pages with links on them that point back at your site/page with the given anchor texts being what lends the most weight. -Michael
I think it has less value now. Even a site has PR0 it can get ranking in google as long as you optimized your site well.
Don't spend so much time worrying about page rank. Instead, focus on getting good quality links and building good content.
I think page rank is an indication only. What we need is hits to the site. Optimize the site by proper use of keywords and also get good links. That should help.
a high PR ... "does not" mean your site is a very popular and helpful website but if your site is widely known and very useful then you usually go with a high PR I do read my own PR results seriously.
What determines the quality of a website? High PR or low Alexa rating? If I am deciding on whether to buy a website or not, what information should I be looking out for? Thanks
Neither. Look for traffic and revenue (and pay very close attention to the SOURCE of that revenue - will it survive a transfer of ownership?).
we make web for ppl. and maximum ppl come to our site by searching from google. in this sense high pr is important. high pr means high traffic rate. simple.
That's simple all right. Simply wrong. High PR does not mean high traffic. High PR does not even mean high Google rankings. Traffic comes from a combination of good SE ranking and a well-written snippet that will draw people to your site. There are numerous examples of lower PR pages outranking high PR pages in Google rankings.
If that is personal attacks than I shudder at what you are going to feel like when you meet real life. And I give up on you guys. I don't have time for this kind of childish arguements. I am not giving in just giving up on you. If anyone is interested in REAL seo and what REALLY works let me know. Otherwise follow Minstrel as he is doing a great job of keeping everyones understanding of seo at newbie level.
You're neither giving in nor giving up. You've just been defeated and you have nothing to counter that fact. And you'll do what? Ask somebody who knows what they're talking about to give you the answer? And the trademark one last shot before he exits... That's especially good, coming from you, visio. Even if it were true, it's at least better than misinforming and misleading people, which is clearly your specialty.
How can people say pagerank is useless when Google itself say otherwise: http://www.google.com/technology/ That is the proof that pagerank is important for rankings, end of arguement. The problem that some people have is that they believe pagerank is the only factor for ranking, and that is wrong. Pagerank is one of several factors Google use to rank sites. http://www.google.com/technology/ There you go. I don't see why there is a huge debate when the answer is right in front of everbody's face
