Oh, but there is. Only a few issues should be turned grey. (Generally some moral issues)

Personally, I think the poll is a loaded question just so some people can show how blindly patriotic they are.

It would be impossible to win this war. Now that the cause of the war has shifted from WMD to terrorism, does anyone honestly believe that it's possible to kill off all terrorists? The war in Iraq and Afghanistan is only breeding more terrorists around the world and fueling the fire for more attacks against ALL western countries (and it's not because "they" hate our freedoms).

Who says "killing all terrorists" is the defining standard?

GTech: I think you have it wrong.

One the history of these situations is that they aren't black and white. This poll is an example of a questionaire that defies history.

Moreover the way the poll is written rather than what you say it's implication is either that you support the current policy or you are an American hater.

    That is bs.

No earlpearl, you have it wrong. As I read the title, in my browser while replying to you: "Do you want America to WIN or to LOSE?"

Are you confirming what I've been saying all along, that blind hatred for a President causes otherwise rational people to say irrational things and make irrational choices?

I hope not. I thought you were a better man.

edit: Earlpearl, step back for a moment and take "Bush" out of the equation. Maybe that will help. Remember, just because you support your country doesn't mean you support Bush. If you are concerned that someone (God forbid!) might think you were a Bush supporter, I'll be more than happy to help defend against such. I don't think there's ever been a question about your "dislike" for Bush. There is another question on the table though.

The victim card isn't going to work, earlpearl. You were not attacked and claiming such is nothing more than a scapegoat.

    Two hypothetical questions then:

    1. Your family is starving and you have no money and no options for finding food other than what you could attempt to steal. Do you steal the food?

    2. A burglar just entered your home downstairs. You can hear them rummaging around. Your childrens bedrooms are also downstairs. Do you arm yourself and shoot to kill the burglar?

Remember, you said that you don't want to go to prison. Yes or no answers please, just as you requested.

You don't think there's a chance that survey results from a "Republican Polling Firm (http://www.pos.org/inthenews/20061108.cfm)" might be slightly skewed or a little biased to best reflect their political interests?

Since we're throwing around links, here's one which suggests that this poll was intentionally worded in a confusing manner :
    http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/horsesmouth/2007/02/gop_pollster_sa.php

here's the actual survey questions and results:
    http://www.moriahgroup.com/downloads/IRAQNATIONALPOLLDATA.pdf

Pretty interesting, especially the results for question #4 which don't really measure up to the polls "findings".

Here are results from several other polls (CBS News, Associated Press-Ispos, USA Today/Gallop, Princton) which show the complete opposite as the POS "Americans want to win in Iraq" findings:

I can't say what I would do, under *dire* circumstances because of what I posted earlier. I don't want to be poor, so I choose to work.

My children are grown and moved out. However, this one is answerable under a hypothetical because *I* have no control. The answer is: Without a doubt. Not sure about *all* states, but in my state, if you trespass in my house, I can shoot you. And I will. And I will not go to prison for doing so. Most people don't go to prison for protecting their families. In which case, it invalidates the hypothetical, because it's not within a rational scenario of what I first described.

I don't answer to anyone, unless I want to and I always do it in a manner *I* want to. Your answers are above. Look forward to hearing how they can be related to supporting terrorists in Iraq.

Oh, I bet there's always a chance that someone would take issue. However, the first paragraph of the link you posted pretty much sums up, in addition to the summary I provided, what their results are. If their polling is *that* accurate, one would also have to ask why wouldn't this one be as accurate? You wouldn't expect a liberal based poll to be accurate, would you?

Just like there are counters to all polls that people don't like. The same could be said of liberal polls that suggest Bush's numbers are falling. Rarely ever see those questioned, do we? ;)

Gotta love this one! Sounds like a liberal constructed this question:

"Do you think the war in Iraq is a worthy cause or a hopeless cause?"

The poll I posted easily concludes that Americans don't support Democrat's desire to lose. Different questions.

Looks like we're up to eleven terrorist supporters now, excluding the most vocal ones that didn't vote. I wonder what the commonality is? ;)

Exactly! The majority of political polls are 100% biased information no matter who conducts them. That's why it's so important to just ignore them. It only takes a minute to do a web search and find poll results that suit your agenda.

but on a side note... if you read the article on the link I provided, you would have noticed that it was a republican criticizing the polling method of republican polling company. Liberals weren't involved this time.

also for the record, I don't subscribe to any political party. I definitely lean left but I'm in no way a democrat or liberal party card carrying member.

I too conclude there is no evidence the poll is incorrect. It conveys a message that liberals probably don't want to hear, but I don't believe most Americans subscribe to the Democrats enthusiasm for defeat. And, as you suggest, I don't believe the numbers on Bush are as low as liberal media establishments love to portray them.

Ha! You seriously believe that people who don't share your presidents point of view, support terrorism, don't you? That's really sad.
